Lisa Rinna Reflects on Tension Between Daughters Amelia and Delilah Hamlin

Lisa Rinna recently shared insights on the current relationship between her daughters, Amelia Gray Hamlin and Delilah Hamlin, following a few challenging years.

“They weren’t [close] for a while,” Rinna, 62, disclosed on the Wednesday, December 17 episode of the “Las Culturistas” podcast, hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. “Those girls know how to argue; they can love and then dislike each other.”

Rinna is the mother of Delilah, 27, and Amelia, 24, whom she shares with her husband, Harry Hamlin, with whom she has been married for over 25 years.

“They’ll have each other’s backs forever,” Rinna remarked about her daughters. “However, we did experience a couple of years that were quite uneasy. Now, they’re extremely close.”

Living their lives in the spotlight. Since Lisa Rinna joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2014, audiences were introduced to her family and their unique challenges. Fans have come to know Rinna’s husband, Harry Hamlin, alongside their daughters, Amelia Gray Hamlin and Delilah Belle Hamlin, as they navigated through life together.

Rinna noted that Amelia and Delilah are “incredibly supportive of one another in this industry,” which she recognized as “often quite challenging.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum also reflected on how she and Hamlin have adapted to life as “empty nesters,” with both daughters now pursuing careers in the entertainment sector.

“We’re immensely proud,” Rinna expressed. “Honestly, our greatest pride comes from the fact that whatever we did — as parents, we often second-guess ourselves. We truly strive to provide our children with the best upbringing. But let’s face it, our parents didn’t have it all figured out either. We are fortunate to be here.”

Rinna humorously remarked that parents “need to understand what happened in our upbringing” before starting their own families. “And then, goodness knows what those poor kids will have to work through in their therapy sessions… But both Harry and I feel that whatever we did — since we are just winging it — we raised some remarkable humans,” she continued. “Good-hearted, compassionate girls. I take immense pride in that.”

While the actress didn’t specify when the tension among her daughters arose or its cause, both Amelia and Delilah have openly discussed their ups and downs in the public sphere.

Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin’s daughter Delilah Belle Hamlin opened up about her improved well-being since becoming sober a few years ago after a rehab stint for depression. “I love being sober. Sometimes I feel like I’m being too ‘pick me’ when I say, ‘I’m sober,’ but whatever,” Delilah, 27, shared on the Friday, July 4 episode.

After her well-publicized romance with Scott Disick ended in 2021, Amelia reflected candidly on social media about the lessons learned that year.

“2021… a year of bleached brows and dreams coming to fruition,” she noted. “It was the year I lost my identity… only to reclaim it in a more authentic way.”

Amelia celebrated her career achievements, mentioning that it was “the year I went to New York and never looked back.”

Despite the obstacles, she expressed gratitude, stating, “Thank you, 2021… and everyone who helped make my dreams a reality… you know who you are!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!”

Amelia is now seen dating Nicolai Marciano, a former classmate of her sister and heir to the Guess Inc. fortune. A source exclusively informed Us Weekly in November that both Amelia and Marciano, 30, are “enthusiastic” about their developing relationship.

On the other hand, Delilah has been vocal about her own challenges, including chronic health issues and an accidental overdose. Earlier this year, she talked about her journey to sobriety on her parents’ podcast, discussing a previous rehab stay for depression.

“I love being sober. Sometimes I feel ‘pick me’ when I say, ‘I’m sober,’ but whatever,” Delilah mentioned in July, recalling her emotional turmoil prior to treatment. “I felt utterly out of control. It wasn’t even really about addiction; it was more about realizing I needed additional help. It was a moment of self-awareness, and I just knew I had to seek help — it was a desperate call for assistance. I reached out to you one day saying, ‘Hey, I think I need to go to rehab; I’m not entirely sure what that entails.’”

Delilah shared that choosing to enter rehab was “the best choice of my life,” emphasizing, “No one coerced me into it. I was the one who said, ‘I want to go.’ I’m incredibly fortunate that you were able to support me financially and emotionally during that time. I truly cherish it.”
