Lizzo Hilariously Parodies Sydney Sweeney’s Iconic Jeans Ad in Viral TikTok

Lizzo responded to a Fox commentator and humorously referenced Sydney Sweeney’s “Good Jeans” advertisement with her own sultry video.

On Monday, August 4, Lizzo, 37, posted a captivating clip of her “good jeans” on TikTok, following backlash against Sweeney, 27, and American Eagle over their controversial ad, which some criticized as overly sexualized and reminiscent of eugenics discussions.

After the ad gained viral traction, a Fox commentator declared during a segment, “We’re over this woke agenda. We’re over the Lizzos; we’re over the Dylan Mulvaneys. If this was a 300-pound non-binary person, they’d be getting applause.” (Mulvaney, 28, is a well-known transgender influencer.) Lizzo hit back with a catchy rap and a video of herself zipping into her jeans, mimicking Sweeney’s style.

The video began with Lizzo lounging on a couch while fastening her jeans. She then rapped, “F*** outta my face / Hoe, give me some space.” The scene shifted to her in a blonde wig and an unbuttoned denim jacket, showcasing her black bra and sparkling “Yitty” necklace, a nod to her brand.

Gabby Windey, Doja Cat, President Donald Trump, and others shared their mixed opinions on Sydney Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle ad. After Sweeney appeared in the July campaign, which cleverly played with the double meaning of “genes” and “jeans,” the ad ignited controversy among social media users who felt it promoted eugenics and more…

Lizzo then stood up, allowing the camera to zoom in on her curves as she strutted over to her award shelf, which displayed multiple Grammys and a Moon Person. “Did this for the culture / That Left, Right, and that bend it over,” she continued. “Got SZA and Doja / I ate that, now let’s do it over.”

With a playful caption, she wrote, “Lizzo’s got Good Jeans™️ 😝.” Fans quickly praised the singer in the comments.

“All them good genes. 🧬,” one user commented, referencing Sweeney’s line from the campaign, which cleverly played on the word “genes.” Another added, “I abSOULutely adore this Lizzo,” and a third wrote, “Lizzo is that girl❤️ that’s why her name is always in someone’s mouth.. she dat girl.. period ❤️.”

Before sharing her reel, Lizzo posted a video on TikTok on Sunday, August 3, clarifying that the track was purely a parody.

“For legal purposes this is just a parody remix. For legal purposes this isn’t an official release,” she noted. “FOR LEGAL REASONS IF U TAKE THIS SONG DOWN I WILL ASSUME YOU HATE FUN ❤️.”

Sweeney’s ad sparked political debate, prompting President Donald Trump to comment, praising the registered Republican. (Lizzo has been vocal about supporting former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.)

On Monday, he wrote via his TruthSocial app, “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ’em Sydney!”
