Marston Hefner Unveils His Late Father Hugh Hefner’s Cheeseburger Menu
Hugh Hefner always had a clear vision of what he desired — even when it came to his cheeseburger choices.
The late magazine mogul preferred a very particular kind of mini cheeseburger, as shared by his son Marston Hefner via Instagram on Saturday, August 9.
“HUGH HEFNER’S MINI HAMBURGER DINNER,” Marston, 35, noted in his post, before detailing his father’s seemingly elaborate order.
The burgers featured ingredients such as tater tots, white onion, and American cheese, available as either a meal or a snack, and were “always served with chilled applesauce.”
The complete ingredient list for the mini burgers consisted of three ounces of HMH Extra Lean Ground Beef (evenly split in two), half a cup of finely diced white onion, one slice of American cheese (cut into quarters), and two toasted Parkerhouse Rolls (split in half).
Presentation instructions were included as well. The burgers were to be arranged “on one side of a warm HMH dinner plate” alongside tater tots, while “The Tomato Plate and Chilled Applesauce are served on the side of the main plate.”
“When Mr. Hefner requests his dinner, everything should be prepared and assembled right away,” the guidelines stated. “The Butler should serve the meal immediately.”
In the “notes” section, further orders were outlined based on the time of day Hugh was placing his order.
“Depending on the time, Mr. Hefner might order it as a snack—please consult with the Butlers,” it specified. “He may ask for Lays Potato Chips or Skinny Fries instead of Tater Tots. Serve the same amount of skinny fries or chips.”
In March, Marston reflected on his experiences growing up under his father’s Playboy legacy. He shared that he often connected with the more “ambitious” Playmates he encountered through his father’s career.
“They weren’t using Playboy as a stepping stone into Hollywood. Generally, they were leveraging it to fund vet school or advance their careers,” Marston revealed in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. “One [Kelly Wearstler] became a highly successful interior designer as a result. Those were the Playmates I felt drawn to and had the most captivating conversations with.”
Marston’s mother was also a Playmate, serving as the magazine’s Playmate of the Month in January 1988 and Playmate of the Year in 1989.
He also mentioned that his life after Playboy has involved exploring his own sexuality.
“I don’t think my views have changed much, except I’m now more open about my identity and accepting of my sexuality,” he said regarding his perspective on sexuality in general. He has expressed on social media that he identifies as both “bisexual AF” and “sexually fluid.”
“I use the term bisexual simply because I think it’s widely understood,” he explained. “I realize I present as straight, so being involved with straight men and stating, ‘Oh yeah, I’m sexually fluid,’ was something I began doing when I started my OnlyFans account. It takes bravery, and people act like we’ve already arrived, but I feel there are many ‘straight-looking’ men who are on a spectrum of sexuality, and I hope we get to a point where it’s normalized. No one gets to define who I am but me at the end of the day.”
Marston married Anna Lambropoulos in August 2022, and the couple welcomed their first son the following year.
