Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow Respond to Meghan Markle’s New Show and Brand
Meghan Markle made waves with the debut of her lifestyle brand and Netflix series in early 2025.
In Netflix’s With Love, Meghan, she invited fans into her kitchen, garden, and home, featuring celebrity friends like Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer for tea parties, crafting, and cooking sessions.
Just prior to the series’ March 2025 premiere, Meghan revealed the rebranding of her American Riviera Orchard food line, now known as As Ever. The limited collection, which includes jams, honey, and tea, sold out rapidly but received a mix of reviews from celebrity circles.
Several lifestyle influencers, such as Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow, have been vocal regarding Meghan’s new ventures.
“I don’t know Meghan and [Prince] Harry,” Paltrow stated in a March 2025 interview with Vanity Fair. “I’ve met Meghan, and she seems lovely, but we’re not close.”
The Goop founder expressed no hard feelings about Meghan’s brand launch, jokingly suggesting, “Maybe I’ll sneak past their security and deliver a pie.”
Check out what some of your favorite lifestyle stars and influencers have commented about Meghan’s latest endeavors:
Martha Stewart
As a leading figure in the lifestyle industry, Stewart’s opinion matters. When asked about Meghan’s show by Access Hollywood in April 2025, she replied, “Has it started yet?” While a bit late, Stewart mentioned, “I’ll check out an episode to see how she’s doing,” expressing curiosity.
Sandra Lee
Lee shared with Us Weekly in March 2025 that she loves the “beautifully filmed” With Love, Meghan. “I was surprised by the backlash; it didn’t seem justified,” she remarked.
“Being in the lifestyle space for years, we blend relatable and unrepeatable elements too,” she explained. “[Meghan’s show is] very well made and beautifully filmed,” Lee praised. “She even used my trick of a plastic bag as a piping bag for her cake! I’m thrilled for her; her team is doing fantastic work.”
Gwyneth Paltrow
Paltrow mentioned to Vanity Fair in March 2025 that she hadn’t viewed the trailer for Meghan’s series, but she felt confident about her As Ever brand’s standing. “[When] there’s buzz about certain women, I instinctively feel the need to support them,” she shared.
The author of The Clean Plate highlighted, “I was taught to view other women as allies rather than rivals. There’s ample room for everyone to pursue their dreams.”
Later that month, some speculated Paltrow took a swipe at Meghan when sharing a cooking video featuring Tracy Anderson on Goop. “Hi, I’m Tracy Anderson, and welcome to my real kitchen,” Anderson stated, which some interpreted as a jab at Meghan, who had revealed her cooking videos weren’t filmed at her home in Montecito.
Paltrow and Meghan squashed the rumors through a joint Instagram Q&A. “I genuinely don’t understand this at all,” Paltrow said in the March 2025 video, showing Meghan enjoying a piece of pie at her kitchen table.
In April 2025, Paltrow reiterated the absence of conflict during an appearance on “The World’s First Podcast With Erin & Sara Foster.” “I wish Meghan all the best,” Paltrow said. “What she’s doing is wonderful. I’m proud of her. Every woman deserves to pursue whatever they want.”
Bethenny Frankel
Known for her role on The Real Housewives of New York City, Frankel has established herself as a businesswoman with her brand Skinnygirl, which started with the Skinnygirl Margarita and now includes a variety of products.
In February 2025, she criticized Meghan’s rebranding as an “identity issue.” Frankel claimed in a TikTok video that the Duchess changed the name to present her brand as “more natural” and “unfiltered” after facing criticism for not being relatable with the initial pristine identity of American Riviera Orchard.
“Authenticity can be difficult for anyone who’s uncertain about their identity, and you can’t let the market dictate your direction,” Frankel remarked.
She added that Meghan “can’t seem to catch a break,” and remarked on how she and Harry struggle to regain their footing after departing from the monarchy in 2020. “To me, it’s an identity and authenticity dilemma,” Frankel concluded.
Chrissy Teigen
Initially a model, Teigen transitioned into the culinary world with her first cookbook, 2016’s Cravings. She has since launched her line of cookware, bakeware, and baking mixes.
After Meghan’s product line launch, Teigen gave it her endorsement, especially praising the raspberry spread.
“We’re jammin!! This might be one of the best bites of the year,” Teigen shared on Instagram in April 2024, referring to the spread produced under Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard label. “Just some rustic bread, salted butter, triple cream brie, thick-cut bacon, and some @americanrivieraorchard jam! Took about eight minutes total and made for a happy weekend. 🤍.”
