Mary from Selling Sunset Believes Chrishell Was Unjust About Emma’s Boyfriend Blake

Mary Bonnet disagrees with the response of Chrishell Stause towards former friend Emma Hernan‘s boyfriend Blake Davis in season 9 of Selling Sunset.

In an exclusive Us Weekly interview, Mary, 45, shared her thoughts on why Chrishell’s visible contempt for Blake seemed unjust to Emma, 33.

“As a friend, when someone is going through a tough time, you need to be there for them and become their safe space,” Mary commented on Emma’s complex relationship. “You don’t abandon a friend in their moment of need and you certainly don’t seek to embarrass them by publicizing their private matters.”

Mary pointed out that Chrishell, 44, should have privately expressed her concerns to Emma. “That [public reaction] was unnecessary and quite hurtful,” Mary stated. “I asked her why, as I can’t comprehend it. I’ve always admired Chrishell, and this behavior is puzzling. But people operate on different motivations.”

While offering her perspective on Emma’s romantic life, Mary expressed her support for her co-star.

“She’s an absolute sweetheart, and who hasn’t been caught in a toxic relationship, choosing the wrong partner and staying longer than necessary?” she asked Us. “Looking back, I know it was foolish [when I found myself in similar situations]. You just get swept away. But you really need people who can support you, strengthen you, and highlight your worth instead of breaking you down further.”

Emma and Chrishell’s friendship played a significant role in season 9, released on Wednesday, October 28. Throughout the show, Chrishell openly expressed her concerns regarding Blake’s suitability for Emma, who was uncertain about her future with her then-boyfriend.

Despite their separation during the season, Emma and Blake’s breakup was brief, and based on social media, they appear to be back together. Meanwhile, Emma’s friendship with Chrishell seems to have taken a back seat after Chrishell accused Blake of using a racial slur.

“Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb,” Chrishell mentioned on Instagram in May. “I just can’t deal with that. Too old to tolerate such behavior. But I still love her from a distance.”

Blake, for his part, later revealed direct messages he sent to Chrishell attempting to connect, but she left him unanswered.

Mary hinted to Us that the tensions between Emma and Chrishell will be addressed in the upcoming reunion, airing on Wednesday, November 5. “It’s going to be explosive,” Mary declared. Additionally, Mary provided an update on her relationship with Chrishell.

“We don’t really communicate much,” she stated before Chrishell addressed Mary’s remarks about her feud with co-star Chelsea Lazkani on social media. “However, I always care about those I love. I can disagree with their actions or words and still hold affection for them.”

Selling Sunset is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
