Meghan King Attends Taylor Swift Cover Band Show with Her Daughter During Eras Tour
When Meghan King missed out on tickets for Taylor Swift’s sold-out The Eras Tour, she found a creative way to enjoy the experience.
“I have an 8-year-old daughter and I live in St. Louis, Missouri, so we didn’t have the chance to see Taylor in our city,” King, 40, told Us Weekly exclusively at the iHeartRadio z100’s Jingle Ball concert on Friday, December 13. “But there was a cover band. Believe it or not, Taylor Swift tribute bands do exist! So, I took my daughter, and it was amazing.”
According to the former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, the atmosphere “was great,” and her daughter, Aspen, thoroughly enjoyed herself.
“[This] highlights what women are achieving in music today,” King remarked. “Taylor Swift is not only setting a standard at her concerts but also paving the way for others to build on her success. I just love it. It’s all about girl power.”
The Eras Tour has been acknowledged as the highest-grossing tour ever, raking in over $2 billion from ticket sales. Concerts around the globe quickly sold out, prompting Swift to add extra dates before the record-breaking tour officially concluded on December 8.
Earlier this month, King shared insight into her own memorable concert experience at the St. Charles Family Arena. While it may not have been Swift, 35, performing, the “Faux Taylor” certainly impressed.
“[Aspen] turned to me like the little fashionista she is and said, ‘Mom, I know that’s not the real Taylor because she only wears red bottom shoes,’” King wrote on Instagram on December 10. “Once Aspen pointed out the glaring — and dare I say, sacrilegious? — off-brand footwear choice, she went into full fan mode, and we sang every word together for the rest of the show.”
“It was a night to remember. Month made. Year made? Definitely one for the books,” King added. “A big thank you to Momo and Papa for the best seats in the house in celebration of Aspen’s 8th birthday, and for arranging a sitter for the boys so mommy could revel in the magic too ♥️ 🌳.”
In addition to raising Aspen, King also has twin sons, Hart and Hayes, 5, from her previous marriage to Jim Edmonds.
While at the Jingle Ball held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, King enjoyed performances by Katy Perry, Meghan Trainor, Tate McRae, and others.
When asked about her most-listened-to artist of 2024, King mentioned Sofi Tukker.
“It was an incredible experience,” she shared with Us Weekly. “I saw them perform three times last year, so that makes sense.”
The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour special will air on ABC on Wednesday, December 18, at 8 p.m. ET and will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
