Meghan King Posts Adorable Photo of Her Three Kids Amid Custody Issues with Jim Edmonds

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King is celebrating the holiday season with her children after resolving a custody disagreement with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds.

“Visited the holiday mart and spent money only on this,” King, 41, shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, December 13, along with a picture of her three children gathered around a claw machine. “We are a claw-loving family!”

King has a daughter, Aspen, 9, and twin sons, Hart and Hayes, both 7, with ex-husband Edmonds, 55.

The two were married from 2014 to 2019 and agreed to co-parent their kids after their divorce. Us Weekly reported in November that King lost her physical custody rights and was granted supervised visitation instead.

Jim Edmonds is likely concentrating on his family as he continues to navigate a custody dispute with his ex-wife Meghan King. “What a week! So much to be grateful for,” Jim, 55, commented on Instagram on Sunday, November 30, tagging his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, in several family photos.

A source informed Us that the custody ruling resulted from a school employee reporting concerns about King to Child Protective Services, which initiated an investigation. A hearing regarding King’s custody rights was subsequently canceled after both parties reached an agreement.

“The custody hearing has been called off,” Edmonds’ representative, Steve Honig, stated to Us earlier this month. “Both parties have come to an agreement that prioritizes the well-being of the children.”

An additional insider revealed to Us that Aspen, Hayes, and Hart will reside with Edmonds full-time in Tennessee, but will spend a few weeks each summer with King.

Neither King nor Jim, who is currently married to Kortnie Edmonds, have publicly commented on the custody matter. Meanwhile, their former RHOC co-stars have shown their support.

“Meghan and I are friends, and I will stand by her and support her,” Alexis Bellino stated to Us in December. “All I can say is that I know it’s tough, and I really care about her. It’s a challenging situation. I don’t take everything I read at face value. I prefer to speak with her before commenting further.”

Kelly Dodd, on the other hand, expressed via TikTok that she was hoping King “gets her babies back.”

“Everyone, please pray for Meghan and her family,” Dodd, 50, wrote. “Those boys and their sister need their mom. They truly need their mother, and it’s heartbreaking what’s happening right now.”

King has been open about her co-parenting relationship with Jim, sharing with Us in March 2024 that they had “made significant progress.”

“Things are good,” King exclusively told Us in March 2024, mentioning that they were “sharing” parenting duties for their kids. “I gave my kids Apple IDs, which is totally possible, by the way. You can still be [their] mom while ensuring their Apple ID is set to restricted. It’s smoother now, likely because they are older. Changes in life stages also affect situations. We still have a way to go, but I believe we’ll get there.”

Love conquers all? Not exactly. Meghan King and Jim Edmonds encountered allegations of infidelity, challenges with fertility, and Bravo cameras before their marriage unraveled in 2019. The former couple wed in 2014. Shortly after their wedding, King, who is 14 years younger than Edmonds, joined the cast of the Real Housewives of Orange County.

King also offered Us an update on her relationship with Kortnie during that time.

“We’re not going out for drinks, but I see [Kortnie] as a positive presence in my children’s lives,” King shared with Us last year. “I appreciate that. … It’s all about the kids. It’s not that I’m trying to become close friends with anyone. There’s a distinct difference between friendship and collaboration.”

She elaborated, “You can work together toward the same goal without necessarily liking one another, which can be even more powerful than friendship. Both parties are in the same situation, focused on achieving the same outcome.”

Jim also has four older children from previous relationships.
