Miley Cyrus’s Skincare Secret: The Amazing Benefits of Salmon Sperm Facials

Miley Cyrus has shared a surprising beauty secret for her radiant skin: salmon sperm.

During an unannounced performance at Bemelmans Bar in The Carlyle Hotel, New York City, on Monday, June 2, the “Flowers” artist candidly addressed the crowd. “I tried that salmon sperm. Have you heard about that? I tried it,” she shared, catching the audience off guard, as reported by People.

Cyrus, 32, went on to detail her experience: “It tastes strange, but my skin looks good,” she clarified quickly, “I didn’t mean to drink it. It’s just like a whole [face] mask.”

While her revelation left some attendees in shock, Cyrus lightened the mood with humor. “I never met the salmon,” she joked. “It came pre-packaged.”

Lindsay Lohan recently shared insights into her beauty regimen, which will soon feature her own product line. In an interview with Elle on Tuesday, May 27, conducted by SNL’s Chloe Fineman, Lohan, 38, discussed her evolving wellness philosophy. When asked about her plans beyond acting, she disclosed, “I am developing my […]

Cyrus didn’t hold back on sharing that the treatment itself was somewhat fishy. “I don’t even know if it’s really what it says it is,” she admitted. “But I do feel like my skin’s looking good.”

She isn’t the only celebrity to explore salmon sperm for its alleged anti-aging properties. In a March 2025 episode of The Kardashians, Khloé Kardashian mentioned using salmon sperm in her skincare routine, joking with her glam team, “I’m never gonna do whale sperm!” (She draws a line at other sea creatures as well.)

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian previously made headlines for her salmon sperm facial, a trend first introduced by Jennifer Aniston. On a 2024 episode of her reality show, Kim, 44, told her mom, Kris Jenner, “I got a salmon sperm facial with salmon sperm injected into my face.”

Aniston, 55, first revealed her experience with salmon sperm facials during an interview with WSJ. Magazine in August 2023, recounting a conversation she had with her aesthetician: “First of all, I said, ‘Are you serious? How do you get salmon’s sperm?’”

Marc Piasecki/WireImag Once upon a time, Jennifer Aniston experienced a salmon-sperm facial. Aniston, 54, revealed details about this unusual beauty treatment in her WSJ. Magazine cover story, which went online on Tuesday, August 22. She explained the suggestion came from her aesthetician: “First of all, I said, ‘Are […]

In 2024, Aniston updated her experience on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She mentioned not seeing major results yet but believed it to be “the future” of anti-aging skincare. “Let me explain to you, it’s not like, how do you get sperm out of a salmon?” she told Jimmy Kimmel, adding that the process was still “unclear” to her. She trusted her aesthetician’s word and was like, ‘sure.’ “But don’t I look like a salmon? Don’t I have beautiful salmon skin?” Aniston humorously remarked.

For the uninitiated, the treatment generally involves micro-needling with salmon sperm, often combined with hyaluronic acid, according to Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gabriel Chiu, who discussed this rising skincare trend with Variety in September 2024.

Dermatologist Dr. Joshua Zeichner has indicated that salmon reproductive cells can improve skin hydration, texture, and plumpness, as well as reduce wrinkles, based on a 2023 interview with Popsugar. “The effects on the skin are thought to result from high DNA levels, which consist of amino acids known for their hydrating and cell-renewing benefits.”

Judging by her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, whatever Cyrus is doing seems effective. The Grammy-winning artist dazzled on the Metropolitan Museum of Art red carpet on Monday, May 5, donning a custom Alaïa outfit and minimal makeup that showcased her natural glow.

Andrew Toth/Getty Images Denise Richards is known for her natural beauty routine — unless following Jennifer Aniston’s unconventional advice, that is. “For my exterior, I see a great dermatologist named Dr. [Robert] Dorfman. I tried the salmon sperm facial. It was good,” Richards, 54, told People in […]

At that time, her makeup artist, James Kaliardos, took to Instagram to discuss her look, emphasizing “clean skin, quiet confidence, sculpted yet subtle glam.” He utilized all Maybelline New York products, listing each step along the way, captioning the post with a twist on the slogan: “@mileycyrus is born with it — and in this @maybelline Met look, she let it shine.”

While Cyrus is open about her salmon sperm experiments, she relies on professionals for the rest of her beauty regimen — and for good reason. In a recent episode of “The Interview” podcast by The New York Times with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, the singer discussed why she hasn’t launched her own makeup line like many of her peers.

“My stepdad asked me recently, ‘Why are you the only one without a makeup line?’” she recalled. “I replied, ‘Because that’s not my passion.’ He said, ‘That’s the right answer.’ And it made perfect sense. I don’t have a makeup line because I’m not a makeup artist.”

Ultimately, Cyrus has always been true to herself — salmon sperm facials included.
