Millie Bobby Brown is standing firm against criticism regarding her new appearance.

The 21-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday, February 27, to respond to social media users who expressed their discontent with her recent looks at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, February 23, as well as the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming film, The Electric State.

On the red carpet on Monday, February 24, Brown showcased a striking blonde updo alongside a metallic gown adorned with intricate embroidery and dramatic draping. However, as images spread across the internet, some criticized the Stranger Things star’s hairstyle and fashion choices. (“I literally had to double-check that it was her who just turned 21 and not 40,” one X post commented regarding Brown’s SAG Awards appearance.)

In the midst of this social media uproar, British Vogue writer Morgan Fargo defended Brown on Thursday, writing an opinion piece titled, “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks.”

The headline resonated with Brown, who shared the article via her Instagram Story on Thursday, simply writing, “Thank you.”

The Enola Holmes actress also made headlines on Monday night when she corrected a photographer who mistakenly referred to her husband, Jake Bongiovi, 22, as her “boyfriend.”

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Brown can be heard stating to the photographer in a video shared via X by The Hollywood Reporter. In the footage, Brown is seen posing for solo shots on the red carpet before signaling for Bongiovi to join her.

Brown and Bongiovi tied the knot in May 2024, confirmed by Bongiovi’s father, rock legend Jon Bon Jovi.

“They’re fantastic; it was a very intimate family wedding, and the bride looked stunning while Jake is absolutely thrilled,” he shared on BBC’s The One Show.

Brown previously shared how she and Bongiovi first met, explaining that their connection began on Instagram, where they instantly hit it off after their initial conversation.
