Mormon Couple Zac Affleck and Wife Jen Discreetly Rehomed Their Dog
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ Zac Affleck disclosed that he and his wife Jen Affleck quietly found a new home for their family dog prior to welcoming their third child.
Zac, 28, addressed a fan’s inquiry regarding their pet in a TikTok comment on Thursday, July 3, stating, “I recall you having a dog besides your lovely children. Is he doing well?”
In his reply, Zac mentioned, “We ultimately decided to give him to a close family member who can provide better care and love for him!”
The couple had not previously commented on the decision to rehome their dog as they prepared to grow their family once more. Jen, 26, and Zac began dating in 2018 and tied the knot the following year. Following the births of their children Nora, 2, and Luca, 22 months, Jen and Zac became part of Hulu’s reality series featuring a group of Mormon mom influencers in Utah.
The first season, which debuted in September 2024, showcased the hurdles in Jen and Zac’s relationship, eventually leading to an offscreen separation.
“Things were definitely rocky after season 2. We were in different mindsets, and there was much to navigate,” Jen exclusively shared with Us Weekly in May. “With me involved in the show and Zac in medical school, we’re finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel after all that chaos.”
Jen noted that season 2 captured “the low points in our relationship,” adding, “Yet, we are grateful for everything, and I hope to discuss more of it once everyone has seen season 2. I haven’t watched it yet, so I’m not sure what unfolds. Relationships require effort from both sides, and as long as both are willing to work, it can always succeed.”
After highlighting their marital struggles, Jen and Zac managed to reconcile before the arrival of their daughter Penelope.
“[This experience] compelled me to seek help for my mental health since I recognized it wasn’t merely impacting me — it was affecting the baby arriving,” Jen explained to Us at that time. “This turned out to be a significant blessing in our marriage. It catalyzed a shift in my life and made me realize that regardless of what occurs in our marriage, I want to be the best version of myself.”
Jen further remarked: “I don’t think I was at my best at the start of season 2, and it was my pregnancy that ultimately led me to that. Now that I’m in a better place, I’m incredibly thankful for this baby and all the lessons this pregnancy journey has imparted.”
On Wednesday, July 2, Jen confirmed via Instagram that she and Zac have officially become a family of five. “Baby Penelope has arrived & she’s perfect,” she wrote. “Going unmedicated was truly the most painful yet empowering experience of my life. I couldn’t have achieved that without Zac and my supportive doula! I’m filled with gratitude and happiness that Penny is now here.”
