Mormon Wives’ Dakota Mortensen and Demi Engemann Star in New Show
Alex Cooper‘s latest series aims to bring together reality TV’s most “controversial” competitors.
On Monday, March 30, Unwell revealed the lineup for a fresh reality show called Unwell Winter Games.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Dakota Mortensen will reconnect with former co-star Demi Engemann as they face four days of grueling mental and physical challenges.
“This four-part series unites 16 of pop culture’s most polarizing personalities to battle through a range of challenges over four days, set in a luxury chalet in Park City, Utah,” the show’s official synopsis states. “Expect fierce competition, surprising alliances, and the raw drama that has become synonymous with Unwell’s programming.”
Dakota and Demi’s involvement comes as MomTok faces a barrage of headlines surrounding various scandals.
In particular, ABC recently declared that Dakota’s ex, Taylor Frankie Paul, will not have her season of The Bachelorette broadcasted due to new allegations of a domestic violence incident involving her ex.
“Taylor is incredibly thankful for ABC’s support as she focuses on her family’s safety and well-being,” a spokesperson for Taylor stated to Us Weekly on March 19. “She is currently weighing her options, seeking assistance, and preparing to tell her story.” (In February 2023, Taylor was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief, and domestic violence in front of a child after attacking Dakota, throwing chairs at him in the presence of her daughter. She later pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault charge, leading to the dismissal of the other charges.)
Further drama ensued as Jordan Ngatikaura filed for divorce from Jessi Draper after five years.
To add to the chaos, Jessi was recently seen kissing costar Miranda Hope’s ex-husband, Chase McWhorter. (Presently, Hulu cameras are not recording the cast while they evaluate Taylor’s position on the show.)
Dakota and Demi are not the only reality stars expected to create a stir in Unwell Winter Games.
Love Island USA star Huda Mustafa and former Dancing With the Stars contender Anna Delvey are on board for the new series, along with Siesta Key’s Juliette Porter, Love Island alumni Ekin Su Cülcüloğlu and Eyal Booker, and Dancing With the Stars pro Gleb Savchenko.
No reality show would be complete without some representation from Bachelor Nation — Bachelor in Paradise couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt are set to participate in this unpredictable series.
Unwell Winter Games is a part of Unwell’s growing programming lineup, which includes Love Overboard, now streaming on Hulu, and the upcoming Let’s Marry Harry set to premiere on Netflix.
While Cooper will take on the role of producer for Unwell Winter Games, comedy creator Adam W. will act as host, with Graydon Cutler and Grace O’Malley providing vibrant commentary.
Unwell Winter Games will premiere exclusively on Unwell’s YouTube documentary channel on Monday, April 6.
