Mormon Wives’ Jen Affleck Reveals Postpartum Body Just Days After Welcoming Baby
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck is proudly displaying her postpartum figure and even dancing in her hospital room just days after welcoming her baby.
On Wednesday, July 2, Jen, 26, shared the news of her and husband Zac Affleck’s third child, Penelope. Since then, Jen has been documenting her hospital journey.
“My pelvic floor might not be ready… but I sure am 👀💃🪩,” Jen captioned a TikTok celebrating her casting on Dancing With the Stars, while Zac, 28, cradled their newborn in her hospital bed. Both Jen and costar Whitney Leavitt will participate in season 34 of DWTS this fall.
When Zac was playfully asked why he appeared to be “the one who gave birth,” he joked, “She set me up! Told me to sit in bed and hold the baby! Next thing I know she’s dancing again.”
Jen later posted photos of herself holding her daughter while wearing a bra and a postpartum diaper.
“Even though she’s my third baby, I’m just as amazed, as if it was the first time,” she wrote alongside a heartwarming Instagram post on Monday, July 7. Jen also shared a video from home a week after the birth, posing for the camera and showcasing her tummy.
Jen and Zac, who tied the knot in 2019, are also parents to Nora, 2, and Luca, 22 months. Their marriage has been a central focus in Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premiered in September 2024. Before season 2 aired in May, Jen addressed criticism from viewers who labeled her third pregnancy a “band-aid baby” following a brief separation from Zac.
“I know a lot of people call it a band-aid baby. They can call it whatever. But truly discovering I was pregnant was the greatest blessing,” she told Us Weekly before the debut of season 2. “I definitely think that I wasn’t in the right headspace during season 2 — and I’m not sure that my priorities were in order either.”
Jen expressed gratitude for how her third pregnancy “forced” her to refocus on her “priorities.”
“It’s definitely changed [things] a lot. Honestly, finding out we were pregnant was the last thing we expected,” she shared. “It was truly shocking when we learned the news. It also brought worry and stress due to everything we were dealing with in our marriage at that moment.”
At the time, Jen noted that season 2 showcased “the worst of what transpired in our relationship,” adding, “But again, we’re grateful for everything, and I hope to discuss it more after everyone sees season 2. I haven’t viewed season 2 yet, so I don’t exactly know what unfolds. It takes effort from both sides of a relationship, and if both are willing to work at it, you can always make it work — that’s truly what happens.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently available for streaming on Hulu.
