Morning Show Season 4: Drama, Romance, and the Return of Jen Aniston and Jon Hamm
Season 4 of The Morning Show is not just exploring a “feminist utopia” at UBN — it’s also packed with intense rivalries, steamy scenes, and an all-star lineup.
Apple TV+ unveiled the official trailer on Wednesday, August 20, revealing a setting two years after the UBA-NBN merger. Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) makes her return to the network, and it seems Cory (Billy Crudup) might be coming back too. Before long, Bradley and Chip (Mark Duplass) find themselves investigating a story that raises red flags for Alex (Jennifer Aniston).
As for Alex, she appears to be in the middle of a conflict in the newsroom while Greta Lee and Marion Cotillard‘s characters clash with Mia (Karen Pittman).
The most anticipated reunion is between Alex and Paul (Jon Hamm). Their relationship faced challenges in season 3, but their undeniable chemistry returns when they unexpectedly meet. The sneak peek also hints at tense confrontations, a couple of intimate moments between Lee and Aaron Pierre, and elevated stakes as season 4 unfolds.
As stated in the official synopsis, season 4 explores how the newsroom “must contend with newfound responsibilities, hidden agendas, and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America. In a world filled with deepfakes, conspiracy theories, and corporate cover-ups — who can you trust? And how do you determine what is real?”
Alongside Aniston, 56, Witherspoon, 49, Crudup, 57, Pittman, 39, Duplass, 48, Lee, 42, and Hamm, 54, returning cast members include Nicole Beharie and Nestor Carbonell. Newcomers include Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Pierre, William Jackson Harper, and Boyd Holbrook.
Aniston recently hinted at what viewers can look forward to after the merger transformed UBN.
“The Morning Show is quite a challenge to film,” she shared with People in July. “It’s layered, complex, emotional, and tackles numerous relevant topics — so let’s just say, it’s not Friends.”
Since her debut on the show in 2019, Aniston remarked that bringing the series to life “exhausts you” season after season.
“We’re involved in every dimension of the show, beyond just the acting aspect, which is a significant part of it,” she noted at that time. “But I have fantastic support, and our team is exceptional.”
The Morning Show premieres on September 17 on Apple TV+, with new episodes airing every Wednesday.
