Ms. Rachel Reveals Shocking Direct Message from Rihanna
Ms. Rachel has garnered quite a few celebrity fans, but she nearly overlooked a direct message from one of her most notable admirers: Rihanna.
In a recent appearance on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast on Thursday, August 7, Ms. Rachel (whose real name is Rachel Accurso, 42) shared that Rihanna, 37, reached out to her via DMs.
“I’m from the elder millennial generation, so I’m not exactly a pro on Instagram,” Ms. Rachel explained to Kelce, 33, a fan of her “Songs for Littles” initiative. “I didn’t realize there were requests and top requests, so I ended up ghosting some individuals for months.”
Ms. Rachel candidly admitted that she’s not particularly well-versed in celebrity culture, which is why she was completely unaware of Rihanna’s social media presence.
“When I saw a ‘badgirlriri,’ I thought, ‘Wow, this person has such a large following.’ Then I noticed her adorable profile picture, which is actually a drawing. I had no idea,” she recounted. “I asked my friends around me, ‘Do you know who this is?’ Then it hit me — it was Rihanna,” she laughed, adding, “I gasped. I was like, ‘Wow.’ That was wild.”
Currently pregnant with her third child, Rihanna shares two children, RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, with her partner A$AP Rocky.
The singer is among the 3.5 million fans following Ms. Rachel on Instagram. The beloved children’s media figure is also appreciated by big names like Robert De Niro, who admitted earlier this year to watching her show with his 2-year-old daughter, Gia.
“So sweet,” said Ms. Rachel of the Oscar winner’s surprising enthusiasm for her content.
She further added, “I feel so thankful that so many families enjoy it and weave moments of joy, singing, and bonding together. I truly feel like the luckiest person or that I have the best job in the world.”

Ms. Rachel also shared her luck in meeting and performing with John Legend, whom she adores. They created a video together where they performed his single “L-O-V-E,” which has accumulated over 14 million views on YouTube.
“It was amazing to sing with John Legend. I have been a fan of his since high school,” Ms. Rachel shared with Kelce. “I loved piano pop and all pianists like Sara Bareilles and the classic sounds of Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder. I even knew an album of his that’s no longer available, and I told him, ‘I can sing every song on that album.’”
Sporting her signature pink shirt, overalls, and headband, Ms. Rachel enchants children as she sings, speaks, whispers, and laughs in videos that have garnered over 11 billion views since 2020.
She collaborates on content with her husband, Broadway music director Aron Accurso, with whom she has two children: son Thomas, 7, and daughter Susannah, born earlier this year.
“Sometimes timing isn’t what you planned, and the road to getting there may be bumpier than expected, but when you hold your little ones, you just know … I’m meant to be your mama,” she conveyed on Instagram in April. “Medical reasons prevented me from carrying this pregnancy, and we were fortunate to have a surrogate who blessed us with the most precious gift. We are now forever a family, filled with immense gratitude and a beautiful bond. It has been an awe-inspiring experience.”
