Mykelti from Sister Wives Responds to Mom-Shamers Following Criticism Over iPads

Sister Wives star Mykelti Padron (née Brown) is responding to the parenting criticism ignited by her recent road trip post on social media.

At 29, Padron defended her choice to let her three children — daughter Avalon and twin sons Archer and Ace — use iPads to stay entertained during a four-hour car journey.

She mentioned receiving a deluge of disapproving messages from mom-shamers, prompting her to address the situation. “I hate being judged for how I raise my kids,” she expressed in a video shared on Thursday, January 8. “I’ve received a lot of hate comments recently, including DMs criticizing my decision to let my kids use iPads.”

The TLC alum explained that they were on their way to visit her younger sister Ysabel when she and her husband Antonio Padron allowed the kids to use their devices.

As one of six children of exes Kody Brown and Christine Brown, Mykelti felt that many of the criticisms she received weren’t justified. “They’re fine,” she noted about her kids, emphasizing that it was just a four-hour trip. (Kody and Christine also have daughters Aspyn, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Truely, as well as a son named Paedon.)

“As adults, we often use our phones while driving,” Mykelti added. “I’m a proud passenger princess.”

She concluded, “I dislike the harsh judgment moms receive simply for trying to keep their kids entertained.”

Her post fittingly read, “Cut Mom Shaming in 2026.”
