New Vanderpump Rules Cast Spotted Filming Season 12 Following Major Overhaul
Fans of Bravo have been eagerly anticipating updates on season 12 of Vanderpump Rules, and they’ve finally caught a first look at the new cast.
The latest batch of SUR staff members was spotted filming on Monday, July 14, with Demyana Selem and Jason Cohen recognized as part of the lineup. They were seen leaving Lisa Vanderpump’s Los Angeles restaurant amidst the production of the upcoming season.
Launched in 2013 as a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the Vanderpump Rules franchise blossomed into a pop culture sensation, largely featuring the same cast each season until Tom Sandoval’s breakup with Ariana Madix over his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, which raised doubts about the show’s future.
Originally, Bravo halted season 12 while the cast dealt with tensions following Scandoval. In November 2024, the network announced a completely new cast would take over after 11 successful seasons.
“The past 12 years of filming have been an incredible journey filled with laughter, tears, and everything in between,” Lisa, 64, stated at that time. “I can’t express enough gratitude to those who shared their lives with us. I love you all.”
Lisa expressed excitement about introducing the show’s new cast, saying, “In the restaurant business, one shift naturally leads to another. Here’s to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”
Executive producer Alex Baskin hinted at the changes in Vanderpump Rules following the recasting of the show.
“We’re in the process of it all. We’re thrilled. It’s a return to our core principles,” Baskin teased during a June episode of the “LadyGang” podcast. “It’s a group of friends in their 20s who work together and do everything together.”
Baskin shared his anticipation for longtime fans to experience the fresh start. “It’s a fun ride with low stakes but high intensity that I adore,” he remarked. “And it looks very different from the original — aside from SUR and Lisa [Vanderpump] overseeing it. That life phase is back.”
Indeed, Baskin had a message for those who are doubtful about the transition.
“I actually enjoy that people are skeptical,” he confessed at the time. “I welcome the doubt. I want viewers to immerse themselves and find something to love, even if they’re hesitant. I believe they will. It’s a big challenge to meet expectations, but things are going well. I’m very eager to reveal it.”
