North West Unveils Faux Septum Piercing, Face Tattoos, and Black Grill
North West is trying out a grunge aesthetic.
North, aged 12 and the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, showcased an eye-catching new style on TikTok on Monday, October 20. In the photo, she displayed her brunette locks styled in four braids accented with blue highlights. Additionally, she flaunted a collection of faux face tattoos, including a star beneath one eye and her name artistically inscribed in cursive on her other cheek. Her look was enhanced with vibrant blue contacts, a black grill, long lashes, and a faux septum piercing.
North completed her style with an oversized black T-shirt paired with layered silver chains, pearls, and cross necklaces around her neck. She added a henna tattoo on her hand along with pink glittering accessories.
She posed with two friends who complemented her style in various colors.
“🩷🩵💚,” she captioned her post. “#northforever.”
In another picture, North made it clear that her look was temporary while posing with her friends. “Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life,” she noted in the caption.
Social media users quickly shared their reactions on X on Tuesday, October 21. “She’s TWELVE??” one user exclaimed, while another remarked on her “shocking new look.”
However, many defended North’s experiment, stating, “It’s really not that serious, hence the word ‘fake.’” One commentator added, “Didn’t you all try fake tattoos as kids?”
North’s faux piercings and tattoos follow fans’ curiosity about a potential finger piercing she displayed in August.
During a trip to Rome, North was seen with a dermal piercing on her right middle finger.
According to Byrdie, dermal piercings lie flat against the skin, lacking a separate entry or exit point. Such finger piercings can easily become infected due to frequent contact and movement.
Social media users criticized Kardashian, 45, for allowing North to get the piercing.
One user commented, “Just looking at it makes me wince😣🤢 It must be so uncomfortable! And it’s in such a prime spot for infection,” while another stated, “That’s going to be challenging to heal…”
North has previously dabbled in faux piercings. In 2022, she sported a nose ring during Paris Fashion Week while coordinating her look with her mom at the Jean Paul Gaultier show.
For that event, North wore a white dress shirt under a pinstriped vest paired with a matching skirt. She accessorized with a black tie and oval sunglasses, as well as a chain necklace. Her nose ring was connected to a chain that traveled behind her ear.

The reality star made a statement in a black-and-white outfit featuring a nude bra top that flowed into a pinstriped floor-length skirt. She elevated her look with a chunky silver cuff bracelet and a matching choker.
Kardashian completed the ensemble with black sunglasses and the same faux nose ring that North sported.
For makeup, she opted for bronzy eyeshadow, long lashes, nude-lined lips, and defined eyebrows. Her hair, dyed platinum blonde at the time, was styled in loose curls.
