Jordan Paul Hansen, pastor of the Christian Life Center, stated in a release on Facebook on February 20 that Ashley was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a treasured member of the church.

“As we collectively grapple with the shock, sorrow, and unanswered questions surrounding this tragedy, we stand in solidarity with you,” the statement partially read.

“Two young daughters have lost their mother, and a family is navigating through deep grief,” Hansen expressed. “Please keep them in your prayers.”

Authorities have charged the husband of an Ohio woman, who was discovered shot dead inside their residence after a reported burglary, with her murder.

Caleb C. Flynn, 39, was taken into custody on the evening of Thursday, February 19, in connection with the death of Ashley Flynn, 37, which took place the morning of February 16, at their home in Tipp City, as per a press release from the Tipp City Police Department.

Caleb was a contestant on the reality show American Idol in 2013.

He faces charges including one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of tampering with evidence, as indicated by court documents reviewed by Us Weekly.

At an arraignment on the morning of Friday, February 20, Caleb pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to court records.

His defense attorney, Patrick L. Mulligan, submitted an email statement to Us on February 20, stating that Caleb is eager to defend his case.

“We are both disappointed and concerned about the brief timeline and apparent rush to judgment in this case,” Mulligan remarked. “When investigators run out of leads or struggle to develop them, scrutiny often falls on a surviving spouse, which increases the risk of a wrongful conviction.”

Caleb and Ashley, a substitute teacher and school volleyball coach, were members of the Christian Life Center in Butler Township, where Caleb once served as a music pastor, as reported by the Dayton Daily News.
