Priyanka Chopra Claims Daughter Malti Can “Get Away With Anything”
In terms of the small white lies parents sometimes share with their children, Priyanka Chopra Jonas acknowledges that she keeps them to a minimum with her 3-year-old daughter, Malti.
During her appearance on Kylie Kelce’s podcast “Not Gonna Lie,” Kelce and Chopra Jonas explored the minor fabrications they tell their kids. Kelce, 33, revealed she has told her four daughters that the TV in their minivan only operates during lengthy car rides, whereas Chopra Jonas, 42, frequently tells Malti that the internet is down at home.
However, Chopra Jonas confessed that this is where the deception ends, as Malti has a way of getting what she wants.
“She’s the most precious thing in our lives and was such a miracle anyway that she gets away with everything with me,” Chopra Jonas shared with Kelce. “So I try, I try, but the internet thing is one of my major fibs.”
“And food too,” the actress added. “She wishes she were as old as Moana. Since my daughter was born premature, I’m one of those NICU moms who is still quite obsessed with her nutrition.”
Chopra Jonas noted that Malti’s meals are well-balanced, despite her pediatrician suggesting that she “needs to stop obsessing.”
“I can’t help it,” Chopra Jonas continued, “because she was so tiny when she was born.”
Malti was born 110 days premature, or “the entirety of the third trimester,” as Chopra Jonas elaborated.
“That’s impressive,” Kelce remarked. “What a fighter, girl.”
“Yeah, she really fought her way into this world,” Chopra Jonas said of Malti, whom she shares with her husband Nick Jonas. “I have immense admiration for her. So, she truly gets away with everything with me. Honestly, I’m just like, ‘Yes, take it. It’s yours. Whatever you need.’”
The Heads of State star also admits that her daughter is aware of this. Malti loves to play dress-up with her mother’s clothes, which Chopra Jonas doesn’t mind.
“She comes into my closet. She refers to it as the ‘magic closet,’” Chopra Jonas revealed. “She’ll wear my shoes and walk out with them. She’ll take my bag and just leave.”
Kelce remarked that Malti would likely get along well with her third daughter, Bennett, who enjoys playing with makeup, which she calls “wakeup,” while Malti refers to it as “yippic.”
“I just want to experience life through their eyes for a little while,” Kelce shared, to which Chopra Jonas concurred.
“It’s my escape. If I’m having a tough day, that’s what I do. I come home to my daughter and my husband; especially to her, I throw down my bag, my shoes, whatever, and just snuggle with her,” Chopra Jonas expressed. “And everything feels alright in the world.”
