Rachael Kirkconnell’s Step-by-Step Guide to Achieving Her Iconic Slick-Back Bun
Rachael Kirkconnell is finally sharing her secrets on how she achieves her signature slick-back hairstyles.
“I always start with some kind of styling cream or wax,” Kirkconnell, age 28, revealed on TikTok on Monday, April 7, as she showcased the L’Oréal Paris Elnett Slick Back Cream.
To begin, the Bachelor Nation star applied the cream to her brunette hair, ensuring she worked it through her roots and part. She then gathered her hair and pulled it back while running a comb through it. “I start at the back and comb all the way through,” she explained, smoothing the sides of her hair.
“This section doesn’t have to be flawless because we will tidy it up shortly,” she added, securing her hair in a messy bun.
Kirkconnell then finished her style with additional cream before picking up a bristle brush to smooth out “all the lumps and bumps.”
Next, she took out her hair tie to smooth out “any remaining bumps” while brushing toward the back of her head.
“We’re going to tie it up and see how it looks,” Kirkconnell remarked as she twirled to show the camera her sleek ponytail.
“Then, I will grab another hair tie, twist my hair, and create one of those [buns] to finish up,” she noted. Kirkconnell also advised fans to use a bobby pin to secure any stray hairs in their bun for a neater appearance.
She finalized her look by applying a bit more styling cream to tame any flyaways and used a bamboo toothbrush for a polished finish from all angles.
