Rachel Recchia Calls Out Louis Over Spoiler for Perfect Match Season 3

Rachel Recchia was a supporter of Perfect Match co-star Louis Russell until he revealed his new relationship with Love Island‘s Huda Mustafa, spoiling the season 3 finale.

On the Tuesday, August 5, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast, Rachel, 29, expressed her disappointment over Louis, 24, hard-launching his romance with Huda, 24, a month prior to the full release of their Netflix season.

“It’s literally airing — we have what, maybe two weeks. It feels a little selfish,” Rachel shared. “It impacts the entire cast.”

Dating rumors between Louis and Huda began in July when they were spotted together in London just before the first episodes of Perfect Match premiered on August 1.

On Thursday, July 31, Huda and Louis seemed to confirm the speculation about their relationship as they attended the Los Angeles premiere of Weapons together, photographed holding hands.

Fans were introduced to Huda earlier this summer during Love Island USA season 7, where she initially formed a connection with Jeremiah Brown. After a complicated relationship, Huda moved on with Chris Seeley, and although they reached the finale, they split before the winners were announced.

“Everyone has their opinions. I know exactly how I want to be treated in a relationship, and I refuse to settle,” Huda stated exclusively to Us Weekly in July regarding her breakup with Chris. “I won’t accept being told to ‘shut up.’ That’s a deal-breaker for me.”

Huda, who has a 4-year-old daughter Arleigh with ex Noah Sheline, emphasized that it was pointless to pretend to be happy when she wasn’t in her relationship.

Meanwhile, Louis formed a bond with Sandy Gallagher in the first part of Perfect Match season 3. However, after confirming his relationship with Huda, it’s clear they likely won’t last once the cameras stop rolling. (He previously appeared in season 5 of Too Hot to Handle.)

“I love Louis as a person. He’s amazing and we get along incredibly well. He’s great for TV,” Rachel remarked, although she didn’t approve of his recent choices.

The former Bachelorette further commented, “It feels kind of selfish, especially considering the strong connection between Sandy and him on the show. Now viewers are left wondering, ‘What’s going on?’”

Rachel described the current situation involving Louis as “crazy,” alluding to his new romance and his fallout with Miguel Harichi, which appeared to occur once he went public with Huda.

Louis and Love Island USA season 6 star Miguel, 28, were friends for some time but currently seem to be drifting apart. Speculation surfaced last month when fans noticed Miguel’s girlfriend, Leah Kateb, unfollowed Huda and Louis, leading to rumors of tension.

Leah, who also appeared on season 6 of Love Island USA, denied having any “beef” with any season 7 contestants after fans pointed out her decision to unfollow Huda.

“I’m incredibly proud of everyone on Love Island, as it takes courage to put yourself out there,” Leah, 25, commented via TikTok last month. “I genuinely wish them all well. … I haven’t discussed Love Island at all. I’m not watching it. I don’t understand why this is such a big deal. Please just leave me be.”

Miguel addressed the rumored feud on his Instagram Story on Saturday, August 2, clarifying Leah’s reasons for unfollowing the couple.

“They did it because, as women, they were uncomfortable with how Louis started dating Huda,” Miguel stated, referring to Leah and her friends. “Whether they’re genuinely falling for each other isn’t my concern. I wish them peace, but my journey is my own, and I hope our names don’t get tangled in their story.”

Miguel also mentioned his recent distance from Louis, noting, “It feels absurd to even explain this, but it seems necessary. The people you think I’m close to, forget that idea because it’s evident we’re on completely different paths.”

The second half of Perfect Match season 3 will be available on Netflix Friday, August 8.
