Rain Brown from Alaskan Bush People Arrested with Her Husband

Alaskan Bush People star Rain Brown and her spouse, Josiah Lorton, are currently facing legal issues.

As per the court documents accessed by Us Weekly, the couple was taken into custody and processed at the Okanogan County jail in Washington State on Friday, April 11. (In Touch initially reported the incident.)

Brown, 22, was apprehended under her complete legal name Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown, facing charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief, and second-degree criminal trespass.

In contrast, Lorton was charged solely with first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief.

Details regarding the events leading to the arrests remain unavailable to the public. Us has reached out to law enforcement for additional information.

Court filings indicate that the couple was released on their own recognizance on Monday, April 14. Us has also attempted to contact the couple for comments.

Brown and her family were first introduced to audiences on The Discovery Channel series Alaskan Bush People, which depicted their experiences living in the wilderness, often going for months without seeing another person.

“Deep in the wilderness lives a family who, for the last thirty years, has lived in the wild,” stated The Discovery Channel in the show’s description. “For this family, coexisting with some of the world’s most dangerous wildlife is a regular part of life.”

At the show’s premiere in 2014, Brown was only 11 years old. The series ultimately spanned 14 seasons before concluding in December 2022.

After the cameras stopped rolling, Brown confirmed her relationship with Lorton by sharing a public photo on Instagram in December 2023.

“The cat’s out of the bag, you guys! 😆💘,” she captioned the post. “Ladies and gents, my heart is TAKEN🥰 I was hoping to do a grand reveal, but the internet moves pretty fast, heehee.”

The couple later made their marriage public with a January social media update. “Baby, this is our world now 😘😎,” Brown posted on Instagram. “Yes. I’m married, y’all.”

Although Lorton is not active on Instagram, his wife has openly expressed her love for him on the platform.

Just a month before their arrest, Brown shared a fan photo that held deep significance for her.

“One of my favorite photos of Josiah and I, this was actually taken by a fan, which goes to show that you never know when some of your best moments will be,” she wrote on Instagram on March 3. “Stay adventurous my rainbows 🌈 and always remember that God loves you #godisgood #truelove #staystrong #stayhappy #rainbrown #rainlorton #marriedlife #alaskanbushpeople #abp.”
