Review of Harry Potter Butterbeer Goldfish and Cookies
Harry Potter enthusiasts still dreaming about receiving a Hogwarts letter may have to continue wishing, but during Butterbeer Season, they can at least experience a taste of life with Harry, Ron, and Hermione at Hogsmeade.
From now through the end of May, Pepperidge Farm is offering butterbeer-flavored Goldfish — and Us Weekly couldn’t resist trying this new treat.
“It’s definitely reminiscent of Teddy Grahams more than Goldfish,” stated Digital Deputy Editor Sarah Hearon, a Slytherin, in the latest episode of Us Weekly’s We Tried It.
Senior writer Shelby Stivale, who is a Gryffindor, agreed that the butterbeer flavor is “lighter” than she had anticipated.
It seems more than just Goldfish are getting in on the Harry Potter enchantment.
For those seeking a richer taste, consider trying Keebler’s Limited-Edition Harry Potter Butterbeer Fudge Stripes Cookies, which are definitely sweeter than the crackers. Additionally, Hershey’s is offering butterbeer-flavored candy with a cream filling — but a heads up, it’s quite a strong flavor. “I’m not a fan,” Sarah confessed, although many colleagues at the New York City office had a different take.
Completing the butterbeer-flavored lineup is Skinnypop Kettle Popcorn, which leans more towards caramel than butterscotch, along with a selection of beauty products like Harry Potter x Orly Butterbeer Scented Nourishing Cuticle Oil. (We tried that, too, and recommend committing to the scent before application!)
“If you prefer white chocolate, definitely go for the cookie, and if chocolate isn’t your thing at all, the popcorn is ideal for you,” Shelby concluded.
