RHOBH Recap: Kyle Richards Breaks Down Over Mauricio’s Separation
Kyle Richards is moving forward with her separation from Mauricio Umansky following his recent kiss with another woman, captured in a photograph.
“I often reflect on how we ended up here when we care about each other so deeply. How did this happen?” Kyle, 56, expressed in a confessional during the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episode that aired on Tuesday, March 11. “Everything we built together feels like it’s just been taken away. I never anticipated my life would take this turn.”
Kyle and Mauricio, 56, had to engage in an “awkward” dialogue after he was seen kissing a mystery woman at Mykonos airport. (Several publications reported on the photos in July 2024, one year after Kyle and Mauricio declared their separation.)
“The images made it clear to me that he’s moving on,” Kyle shared in her confessional. “You can stay in denial for as long as you want, but seeing that was a wake-up call, saying, ‘Hello, Kyle, he’s moved on. It’s fine. You both have the right to live your lives.’”
While seated in the kitchen of their former California residence, Mauricio expressed his regret to Kyle regarding the public exposure of the photos.
“You know I would never want to intentionally hurt you or the kids. I’m truly sorry for causing you pain,” he said. “I would never wish to hurt you on purpose.”
Kyle replied, “I understand you didn’t do that intentionally. I know you were unaware your picture was being taken. I can’t say the same for the other person. But seeing it is definitely tough.”
Kyle acknowledged that since she and Mauricio are separated, they have the freedom to pursue their own romantic interests. Still, she conceded that witnessing him with someone else was “strange.”
It was at that moment that Kyle became emotional while further discussing with Mauricio.
“I’m uncertain about what I should do now,” she said, accepting a hug from him.
“Seeing these photos makes it quite clear that this is likely permanent,” Kyle added in her confessional. “And I don’t foresee an easy path back from this.”
