RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter Involved in Travis Mullen’s Custody Battle
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter has become embroiled in the custody dispute between Travis Mullen and his ex-wife Meghan Mullen.
As per court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Travis submitted an emergency motion on March 31, seeking sole legal and physical custody of the three children he shares with Meghan. (In Touch was the first to report this story.)
“After all the time, energy, and resources [Meghan] and I have invested in establishing ‘workable’ custody arrangements, [Meghan’s] actions continue to jeopardize my custodial time and attempt to alienate the children from me,” Travis claimed in court documents. “For over a year, I have tried to communicate with [Meghan] and sought her cooperation in co-parenting, but nothing has improved.”
According to court filings, Travis asserted that Meghan is not taking one of their sons to school and “is permitting repeated unexcused absences.”
He further noted that Meghan is “refusing to let me have our children during my court-ordered custodial time.”
“She has declined to provide me with her current address and ignores my attempts at communication through Talking Parents, as we were required to do,” he stated in court documents.
Travis and Meghan were married in 2010 but separated in 2016. He has since moved on with Gina, who stars in Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County.
In her response to Travis’ request for sole legal and physical custody, Meghan emphasized that she is “seeking balance, fairness, and safety for our children.”
“Our children have repeatedly expressed to me that they fear their father and his girlfriend, Gina Kirschenheiter,” she claimed in the court documents. “All three children have said that Gina speaks negatively about me and creates tension in the household.”
Meghan denied any involvement with illicit substances and claimed that Travis’ filings “seem designed to punish and control me, rather than to protect the children.”
“I am not requesting this Court to penalize Travis or Gina. I am asking for protection, fairness, and balance,” she wrote in the court documents. “I respectfully urge the Court to consider all submitted evidence and grant the necessary relief to safeguard their best interests.” A hearing for the case has been scheduled for July.
In season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Gina and Travis decided to spend more time apart, partly due to the toll his divorce battle was taking on their relationship.
“What was happening on his side was unacceptable, and I did not want my children around it anymore,” Gina — who shares three children with ex-husband Matt Kirschenheiter — explained during an October 2024 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “There were developments that genuinely made me feel unsafe and that were impacting my kids. Look, Travis is a victim in this scenario as well. However, that doesn’t mean I want to stay in that environment.”
Gina and Travis — who recently helped launch a new real estate team — continue their relationship and are expected to feature in season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
