RHOC’s Meghan King Marks Daughter’s Birthday Following Custody Battle

Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King publicly celebrated her daughter’s birthday after a brief custody loss concerning her children with ex Jim Edmonds.

On Monday, November 24, King, 41, posted on Instagram a loving photo of her 9-year-old daughter, Aspen, expressing, “My favorite female to ever walk the planet. The brightest light, my greatest joy.”

She added: “A spectacular gift from God was born 9 years ago today. When I learned what love is. I love you Aspen King Edmonds. I love you to infinity.”

This heartfelt post came just days after Us Weekly reported that King had temporarily lost custody of her three children—Aspen and 7-year-old twin boys Hart and Hayes—following an investigation by Child Protective Services.

Multiple sources informed Us that King has retained supervised visitation rights, but Edmonds, 55, currently has sole physical custody of the three children. This decision is temporary, pending a hearing set for December to evaluate the custody arrangement’s permanence.

King and Edmonds were married from 2014 to 2019 before parting ways. They drew media attention in 2022 when King sought a temporary restraining order, alleging “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” from Edmonds, both virtually and via their court-monitored coparenting app, Our Family Wizard.

Three months later, King’s protective order was rescinded. Edmonds responded to the abuse allegations through a statement to Us.

“This request for an order of protection is entirely unfounded and undermines the experiences of countless legitimate victims of abuse,” said Edmonds’ representative, Steve Honig.

Recently, police were called to Edmonds’ residence in May after King allegedly entered without permission. King described Edmonds as “emotionally abusive” toward her, which he refuted in a statement to Us in September.

“As usual, Meghan is spinning tales. Jim and Meghan hardly communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her, it isn’t Jim,” his spokesperson asserted. “Jim is a dedicated and involved father to all his children. Unfortunately, the kids bear the brunt of this situation. Jim has always aimed to coparent respectfully and productively, while Meghan has yet to reciprocate.”
