Rihanna Announces She’s Expecting Baby No. 3, Shows Off Baby Bump Before Met Gala 2025
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky are set to become a family of five, and she decided to share the news during fashion’s most significant evening.
According to sources, Us Weekly reports that 37-year-old Rihanna is expecting her third child with 36-year-old ASAP Rocky. She showcased her baby bump while preparing for the Met Gala on May 5, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Her photographer, Miles Diggs, also confirmed the news with a photo of her bump. (Diggs has verified her pregnancies before.)
Last year, Rihanna, who is already the mother of two sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 21 months, with ASAP Rocky, expressed her wishes to grow her family.
“[I’ll have] as many kids as God wants me to have,” she told Elle in April 2024. “I don’t know what God wants, but I would aim for more than two. I’d love to try for a girl. But if it’s another boy, that’s perfectly fine too.”
The pair, who began their relationship in 2020, first announced they were expecting their first child in January 2022.
“I have no clue when I ovulate or anything like that. We just enjoyed ourselves,” Rihanna shared with Vogue in April 2022 regarding her pregnancy. “Then, it showed up on the test. I didn’t hesitate—I called him in and showed him the result. The next morning, I was at the doctor’s, and our journey commenced.”
They welcomed their first child, RZA, in May 2022.
Less than a year later, Rihanna confirmed she was expecting her second child with ASAP Rocky, revealing her baby bump during her Super Bowl LVII performance in February 2023. They welcomed their son, Riot, that August.

“It’s unbelievable how you can’t recall life before. It’s the wildest experience,” she explained to British Vogue in February 2023. “You try to remember it—there are pictures from that time—but the emotions, desires, and joys you once had become unrecognizable.”
The star reflected on how the transition to motherhood felt like a “mind-boggling” experience.
“You essentially become two from one,” she remarked. “You arrive at the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It’s a crazy experience. And those initial days are wild. You barely sleep. We returned home without any help; it was just us as new parents with our baby.”
For his part, ASAP Rocky has expressed his joy in being a father to their two sons.
“I believe becoming a father helped me discover my dad style,” he shared in an April 2025 interview with Vogue. “I’m really dedicated to it. That’s my focus now. I love it.”
