Rihanna Declares Fatherhood the ‘Most Incredible Experience’ for A$AP Rocky
Rihanna openly expresses her admiration for her partner.
In an extensive interview with Harper’s Bazaar released on Saturday, February 22, the singer and entrepreneur shared that the “most wonderful thing” about her partner A$AP Rocky is “watching him as a father.”
Their children, RZA, 2, and Riot Rose, 1, seem to agree. “It annoys me at times because my sons occasionally seem to adore him more than they do me,” she remarked. “And I’m like, ‘Do you know who carried you? Do you know who brought you into this world?’ They love him, but seeing that bond is truly the best part.”
The couple, who began dating romantically in 2019 after years of friendship, have a long history together. They reside in New York City, a lifestyle they both cherish.
“We enjoy dining, shopping, and strolling the streets with friends,” explained Rihanna, 37, to the publication. “I’m not fond of private rooms or shutting down stores. I dislike the Rapunzel lifestyle; it feels isolating and lonely. What am I protecting myself from? I’m allowing others to dictate the theft of the life I could actually be living.”
Rihanna also discussed her other “babies”: her immensely successful ventures like Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty. She mentioned her interest in expanding into home design and even wine in the future. (“We envision having our own family vineyard.”) She attributes part of her success to her belief that she has “never underestimated my consumer.”
“Many people tend to underestimate consumers,” Rihanna stated. “They think they can fool them into accepting a so-called ideal of beauty. I don’t know if it’s social media’s influence or just timing, but people are far from ignorant.”
Additionally, in the same interview, Rihanna reassured fans that new music is definitely in the works… eventually.
“There’s no specific genre right now. That’s the reason I waited. Each time, I thought, ‘No, this isn’t me. It doesn’t resonate with my growth or evolution. I can’t pursue this. I can’t stand behind it. I can’t perform it on tour for a whole year,” she elaborated.
“Eventually, I realized that this extended time away from music needs to make an impact when everyone hears the next thing. It has to count. It must matter.”
“I have to demonstrate that the wait was worthwhile,” she added. “I can’t release anything mediocre. After waiting for eight years, it’s worth waiting a bit longer.”
