Rish from Family Karma Responds to Monica’s Cheating Allegations
Fans of the former reality series Family Karma were surprised to learn that Monica Vaswani and Rish Karam had ended their relationship following accusations of infidelity.
According to Bravo fan accounts, Monica, 32, took to her Instagram Story on Sunday, June 1, to share images of unopened condoms. She captioned the post, “So done with all the lies. This isn’t the same girl that was blinded by you while filming. Did you think I was that dumb @rishkaram.”
Monica also posted supposed Instagram DMs from a woman who claimed she had been involved with Rish. “We kissed. He said he was single. Wanted to see me today. Good luck,” the messages from the unidentified woman stated.
In response, Rish asserted that he hadn’t cheated, emphasizing that his engagement to Monica was over.
“Monica Vaswani & I have not been together for over a month,” Rish wrote in his Instagram Story on Sunday. “She entered my apartment unannounced and without my permission while I was out of the country, rummaged through my personal items, and posted out-of-context photos on social media.”
Rish maintained that he had not been unfaithful. “I never cheated on her and always aimed to give her my best during our relationship,” he continued. “It’s unfortunate it didn’t work, and she requested I not discuss our breakup openly as she needed time to process.”
He concluded: “Unfortunately, my kindness was exploited, and she took control of the narrative, which is manipulative, unacceptable, and appalling.”
Rish also shared a screenshot showing Monica’s parents at his apartment when she allegedly moved out, stating, “Her parents helped her move out of our apartment on 4/21/25, as shown in this photo. I’ve been single ever since.”
Before their off-screen separation, the Family Karma stars faced rumors of infidelity on the show. The reality series, airing from 2020 to 2023, followed the lives of several Indian-American families across three generations who relocated to Florida around the same time.
Monica was an original cast member, while Rish joined a season later as her boyfriend. During season 3, Rish denied cheating allegations as they discussed their future together.
“Honestly, by 30, I thought I’d be starting the next chapter, getting married, and having kids. So I feel a bit lost. I’ve done everything right until now. I have the 9-to-5 job and the respect of my parents,” she shared in a confessional. “But what am I doing this all for? Maybe I need to shake things up because I’ve never felt so uncertain about my future.”
In November 2023, Monica and Rish announced their engagement after several years of dating.
“We found our way. True love is learning, growing, and never giving up,” Monica wrote on Instagram. “We were fortunate to have amazing friends and family supporting us every step of the way. Our hearts are so full, and I’m over the moon to share our engagement with you 🤍.”
Rish expressed his excitement too, stating, “I’m beyond blessed and grateful to call you my best friend, soulmate, and now MY FIANCÉ! Your zest for life, beautiful smile, and pure heart are just a few reasons I’m lucky to share my life with you. I’m excited for this next chapter of our lives! Cheers to all the adventures ahead, love you baby girl 💍🍾.”
Family Karma was placed “on pause” that same month, with NBCUniversal Entertainment Chairman Frances Berwick telling Variety that “in my heart of hearts, I believe we will bring it back at some point.”
