Robert Irwin Shocks Fans with Shirtless Reveal on Dancing With the Stars
Robert Irwin isn’t shy about showing off his physique at events.
The 21-year-old, son of Terri Irwin and the late Steve Irwin, flaunted his chiseled abs while announcing his participation in season 34 of Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday, April 22. He made a grand entrance by removing his shirt and strutting onto the Dancing With the Stars stage wearing only brown khaki pants. Staying true to the Irwin family legacy, he had a live snake draped around his neck as a daring accessory.
In an interview with Good Morning America, Robert shared his excitement about joining the competition.
“I told my mom first, then my sister,” he recounted when asked who he informed initially. “I sat them down and said, ‘Guys, I have a really big announcement.’ And I kid you not, the first thing Bindi said was, ‘You’re doing Dancing With the Stars.’” Bindi Irwin, 26, previously competed on DWTS and even clinched the title in 2015.
“You could hear squeals from Australia all the way here,” Robert joked.
His eye-catching shirtless moment follows his sizzling Bonds Australia underwear campaign earlier this month.
For the photo shoot, he sported nothing but boxer briefs while allowing wild animals to glide across his skin. In one image, he showcased his abs as a large snake slithered around his neck and chest; in another, he posed in gray underwear with a spider wandering on his arm.
At that time, he revealed to People that he prepared for the shoot by adhering to a strict diet. “I’ve done more sit-ups and consumed fewer carbs than ever before, but it’s been enjoyable,” he shared. “I aimed to look and feel my best and boost my confidence.”
On Dancing With the Stars, he appears to be all-in with the intention to win (and he’s already captivating audiences).
