Robert Irwin’s Campaign for Bonds: Bindi Irwin Shares Her Genuine Thoughts
Fans adored Robert Irwin’s daring Bonds campaign, but his family had seen quite enough.
In an exclusive chat with Us Weekly, Robert’s sister, Bindi Irwin, shared her genuine thoughts on his Bonds campaign, which launched last month.
“There are some things you can’t unsee as a sister, and I’m a bit uncomfortable,” she told Robert, 21, though she also expressed her pride in him. “Proud, just not looking at it,” she joked, alluding to Robert’s bulge.
In a light-hearted moment, Robert laughed, “Proud from a distance.” He added, “It’s hilarious to see how uncomfortable you are.” Their mother, Terri Irwin, shared her perspective on Robert’s ad, noting that Bindi had the most “unique” reaction of them all.
“I was really proud of Robert for [not using] supplements, not even protein powder—just clean food and hard work,” she remarked. “I truly admire that.”

In his campaign, Robert highlighted not only his impressive physique but also wildlife. Following in his father’s legacy as a conservationist, he confidently allowed spiders and snakes to crawl on him while modeling various styles of box briefs in gray, black, and white.

Robert shared that his family had mixed feelings about his campaign during a segment on Today. “Well, my family had a lot of comments,” he explained. “They were like, ‘Wow, [there are] some things we can’t unsee.’ But it was fantastic because Bonds, our iconic Australian underwear brand, approached me wanting to celebrate Australian wildlife through the campaign.”
