Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s Toddler is a Big Fan of Green Lantern
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s 2-year-old son, Olin, is their biggest admirer!
The Deadpool & Wolverine star, 48, shared during the Time100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday, April 23, that young Olin is obsessed with the film that brought his celebrated parents together.
As Time correspondent Eliana Dockterman mentioned the 2011 superhero flick Green Lantern while introducing Reynolds for a discussion on stage, the actor humorously remarked that it wasn’t “the most successful movie” in his filmography.
Despite the blockbuster receiving unfavorable reviews from critics and audiences, it seems to be a huge favorite in the Reynolds-Lively home.
“It’s my son’s favorite movie; he’s 2. It’s just every day, you’re like, ‘Oh, I need to heal this, I see,’” joked Reynolds, as reported by People.
Reynolds and Lively, 37, met while filming Green Lantern in 2010, but their romance didn’t flourish until after the movie’s premiere. They tied the knot two years later and are now parents to four children. Along with Olin, they have three daughters: James, 10, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5.
“We went on a double date,” Reynolds recounted during an interview with Entertainment Weekly on SiriusXM in February 2016. “She was on a date with another guy, and I was with another girl — and it was the most awkward outing for everyone involved because we were just like fireworks igniting.”
“I remember it was funny because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone, we were both single,” he continued. “I think the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends.”
Last July, while promoting Deadpool & Wolverine, Reynolds revealed his son’s name for the first time at the film’s premiere in New York City. The film’s director, Shawn Levy, also disclosed that he is Olin’s godfather.
“Little by little, all of the Reynoldses became part of the movie, including their youngest,” Levy mentioned in an interview with Variety, discussing the Reynolds children’s cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine. “As the proud godfather of Olin, that’s possibly my favorite voice cameo.”
Olin makes a brief appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine as Babypool, while his sister Inez plays Kidpool. Lively shows up as Lady Deadpool, and their daughter Betty is credited as Hugh Jackman’s “wrangler.”
Pop superstar Taylor Swift referred to Lively and Reynolds’ children as her “godkids” in an Instagram Story last July, coinciding with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, suggesting that she is Olin’s godmother. In another interview, Reynolds confirmed that Swift serves as godmother to their three daughters.
