Salma Hayek Marks Stepdaughter Mathilde Pinault’s 24th Birthday Celebration

Salma Hayek is honoring her stepdaughter Mathilde Pinault on her special day.
“Happy Birthday Tildie 🎂 Wishing you a year that shines as brightly, beautifully, and full of potential as you are,” Hayek, 58, shared on Instagram on Thursday, February 20, along with several lovely snapshots featuring the actress and her stepdaughter, including a nostalgic photo from when Mathilde and her daughter Valentina, 17, were little.
“I am so proud of the woman you’ve become!” Hayek’s touching note continued. “We love you @mathildepinault ♥️.”
Last year, Hayek and Mathilde attended the 60th annual Venice Biennale for the Fondazione Cini, Isola Di San Giorgio gala dinner in Italy, looking stunning in sparkling dresses. Hayek wore a vibrant blue fitted gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline, while Mathilde shone in a shimmering silver dress embellished with tassels.
Mathilde, now 24, is the daughter of Hayek’s husband, François-Henri Pinault, whom she wed in 2009. At the time they met, Pinault was already a father of three. He shares Mathilde with his ex-wife Dorothée Lepère, along with a son, François, born in 1998. Pinault also has a son, Augustin, born in 2006, with model Linda Evangelista. Hayek and Pinault welcomed Valentina together in 2007.
“I had a child later in life,” Hayek told Red magazine about motherhood in 2017, noting that she “identified” with her character in the 2015 film Tale of Tales, who experienced a “desperate desire to have a child and perhaps feeling that you can never be happy or complete, that your life is not whole, without this.”
She continued, “I’ve had that longing and that pain… I always wished to have many children, and I wasn’t able to. My body, as a miracle, brought one into the world. The immense blessing is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so unique.”
Hayek takes her role as a stepmother seriously, having previously celebrated her stepson Augustin’s 18th birthday in October 2024.
“Happy 18th birthday, Augie! You’re now officially a fully grown man, at least in Mexico and France,” she wrote, alongside several heartfelt family snapshots.
“Your gentle heart brings a healing touch to our lives, radiating warmth and light to everyone around you,” her post elaborated. “Keep sharing your laughter and joy. We love you dearly.”
