Saoirse Ronan Expecting First Child with Jack Lowden, Reports Say
Saoirse Ronan and her spouse, Jack Lowden, are believed to be expecting their first child.
Ronan, 31, and Lowden, 34, were recently photographed enjoying a stroll in London, as seen in images released by the Daily Mail on Saturday, May 31. The Little Women star seemed to be showcasing what looked like a baby bump, sporting a black bodysuit paired with a comfy puffer jacket and a baseball cap. Lowden matched in black sweatpants and an Adidas hoodie.
Neither Ronan nor Lowden has publicly confirmed details of the pregnancy. However, the Irish Independent reported the news through a source earlier in May. Us Weekly has requested additional comments on the matter.
The couple has been together since 2018 after appearing in that year’s Mary Queen of Scots.
“Working with Saoirse was amazing,” Lowden praised during an AOL panel promoting Mary Queen of Scots. “She is a force of nature both on and off the screen, completely fearless and a fantastic leader. It’s astounding to see how she conducts herself on set at just 24 years old.”
Ronan and Lowden tied the knot six years later in early 2024.

“I got married. I’m 30 now. I’m old,” Ronan joked on a November 2024 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I’ve been eager for my husband Jack and me to do a cheesy karaoke duet.” She continued, “I want to perform ‘Shallow’ from A Star is Born. I want him to be my Bradley [Cooper], and I’ll be his [Lady] Gaga. But he won’t agree to it. I’m like, what’s marriage for? You know what I mean?”
While Lowden graciously declined the duet, the couple has been collaborating on projects since their wedding. He produced Ronan’s film The Outrun, which was released late last year.
“He gave me the book and said, ‘You have to play this,’” Ronan shared with the Sunday Times in September 2024. “When you find people you love and trust creatively, why wouldn’t you want to keep collaborating?”
Ronan mentioned that she and Lowden set “very high standards for each other” on set.
“When I practiced Rona’s Orcadian accent on him for The Outrun, he asked, ‘You’re not really going to do that, are you?’” she recounted. “[Jack] and I worked hard to portray Rona accurately, ensuring her struggles with alcohol were documented while capturing her humanity.”
The following month, Ronan expressed her excitement about future parenthood.
“I gained success quite early,” Ronan disclosed to British Vogue in October 2024. “Therefore, by the time I found my partner, I was ready to have a child. I feel fortunate that if I step away for a moment, I’m not giving it up entirely. But yes, I’ve always wanted that.”
