Saoirse Ronan Welcomes First Child with Husband Jack Lowden
Saoirse Ronan and her husband, Jack Lowden, have welcomed their first child, becoming proud parents.
Recently, Ronan, 31, and Lowden, 35, were seen enjoying a walk in London with a baby carriage, bringing smiles to their faces. Photos of the couple, published by The Sun on Thursday, September 11, capture the duo as they strolled arm in arm, checking on their little one in the stroller, whose name has not been disclosed.
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for the couple for comments.
Ronan’s pregnancy news surfaced in May when she was spotted with what appeared to be a baby bump during a walk in London. At the time, the Daily Mail shared photos of Ronan in a black bodysuit, puffer jacket, and baseball cap, while Lowden was dressed in an Adidas hoodie and black sweatpants. The pregnancy was further confirmed by the Irish Independent through a source.
Ronan and Lowden began dating in 2018 after their collaboration on Mary Queen of Scots.
“Working with Saoirse was remarkable,” he shared during an AOL panel promoting the film. “She is a force of nature both on and off-screen, incredibly fearless and a brilliant leader. It’s always amazing to me how she conducts herself on set at just 24 years old.”
The couple kept their romance low-profile and secretly married in Scotland in July 2024.
“I got married. I’m 30 now. I’m getting old,” she playfully said during a November 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I’ve been eager to do a cheesy karaoke duet with my husband, Jack — it’s ‘Shallow’ from A Star Is Born. I want him to be my Bradley [Cooper], and I’ll be his [Lady] Gaga, but he hasn’t committed. I’m like, what’s marriage for if not for that?”
In an October 2024 interview with USA Today, Ronan expressed her contentment in her personal life, despite previous concerns that her career would dominate her focus.
“My life has grown beyond just work,” she noted. “For a long time, that was all I did; that’s how I connected with people and made sense of the world.”
Ronan emphasized, “I finally feel like I’m part of a community, which I never thought I would experience. I used to believe I wouldn’t have friends or a partner. I used to be very much in my own world. Now, having a rich personal and social life means so much to me.”
Ronan has always envisioned having a family outside of her career. “I became successful at a young age,” she explained in British Vogue in October 2024. “So when I found my partner, I felt ready for the possibility of having a child. I feel fortunate that stepping back momentarily doesn’t mean giving up forever. But yes, I’ve always wanted that.”
