Savannah Chrisley Opens Up About Liposuction Following 40-Pound Weight Gain
Savannah Chrisley disclosed that she underwent liposuction after facing health challenges.
“I was experiencing all kinds of issues with my endometriosis, and after taking medication, I gained 40 pounds in just three months,” Chrisley, 27, revealed during the Tuesday, July 15 episode of her “Unlocked” podcast. “It was overwhelming.”
The reality star, who was preparing for a photo shoot, expressed her dissatisfaction with her appearance. After consulting with plastic surgeon Dr. Charlie Galanis—who joined Chrisley as a guest this week—they agreed that she should go ahead with liposuction. (Chrisley publicly shared her endometriosis diagnosis in 2020, discussing several surgeries she had undergone then.)
“Things moved quickly,” she recalled. “It was a while back, around Christmas.”
Chrisley mentioned that she had a virtual consultation with Dr. Galanis, and was in Beverly Hills just a week later for the procedure.
“I felt awful. I wasn’t happy with my appearance,” Chrisley noted. “Not liking how you look affects you physically, emotionally, and mentally.”
Not only did Chrisley notice a change in her body post-liposuction, but it also transformed her entire mindset. (In another part of the episode, she also confirmed that she had a nose job, though with a different surgeon.)
“It motivated me to lead a healthier lifestyle,” she continued. “When I saw the results, I thought, ‘Wow, I want to maintain this.’”
The podcast host observed results six weeks after her surgery, feeling “like a completely different person.”
Chrisley admitted she never intended to disclose her liposuction experience publicly, and even Dr. Galanis was taken aback by her openness.
“I’m surprised you’re discussing this. We’ve never talked about it publicly before. I didn’t expect you to bring it up,” he remarked. Chrisley replied, “Me neither.”
She elaborated on how “the stigma” surrounding plastic surgery initially deterred her from sharing details about her liposuction journey.
“I was dealing with various health issues. Despite working out and eating right, I wasn’t seeing results. Being on TV and needing to look good for a product campaign, I felt I couldn’t show up looking like I did. It didn’t align with my brand. I didn’t feel good, and I needed a quick solution, but I was aware of the judgment that comes with it.”
