Savannah Chrisley Reflects on ‘So Many Regrets’ Following Ex Nic Kerdiles’ Passing
Savannah Chrisley reflects on the loss of her ex-fiancé, Nic Kerdiles.
“I was genuinely heartbroken and devastated. I have so many regrets about things I publicly said, and conversations I wish we could have had,” Chrisley, 27, shared with People on Sunday, February 23.
At the time, Savannah was visiting her father, Todd Chrisley, while he is in prison, when she learned about Kerdiles’ motorcycle accident. (Todd, 55, is currently incarcerated in Pensacola, serving 12 years for tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy.)
“I was shaking and crying, saying, ‘I have to get home. I have to get home,’” she recounted. “[I was] texting him, pleading, ‘Please tell me it’s not true. Please. You’re OK, right?’ The messages were sending, so I thought, ‘Maybe they got it wrong. He’s okay.’ Because it still showed delivered.”
Savannah got engaged to Kerdiles in 2019 after dating for two years, but the couple later put their wedding plans on hold. She announced their breakup in 2020, and despite a brief reconciliation, they ultimately ended their relationship permanently in 2021.
In September 2023, it was reported that Kerdiles passed away at the age of 29 following a motorcycle crash.
“Heaven gained the most beautiful angel today … I miss you and I love you. I will always treasure our last messages of ‘I love you,’” Savannah wrote on her Instagram Story at that time. “Please send me a sign that you’re okay. Maybe through [sic] a ham and cheese crepe … or pasta with white sauce … or maybe your favorite carrot cake.”
She added: “We loved deeply … and I cannot wait to ride bikes along the beaches of heaven with you one day.”
During her interview on Sunday, Savannah spoke about grieving Kerdiles with Todd: “I knew I had to tell [my] dad [Todd]. I couldn’t leave without telling him. He and Nic were best friends. So I went to inform my dad. I walked in, and he instantly knew, and that’s when I broke down.”
The Chrisley Knows Best star “cried all day” with Todd. “He sensed something was wrong. He was just devastated and heartbroken,” Savannah recalled.
Following Kerdiles’ passing, Savannah found love with her current boyfriend Robert Shiver. (Savannah initially contacted Shiver, 40, after he made headlines in 2023 for surviving an alleged murder plot that involved his ex Lindsay Shiver.)
“After a few weeks, I told Robert, ‘I promise I’ll stop talking about it. I just need to go through my process.’ His response was, ‘You weren’t my first love, and I wasn’t yours, but we can be each other’s last,’” she recounted, noting how she appreciated his emotional maturity and support during a difficult time.
Savannah continued: “This was just a month into our relationship. The way he is there for me daily, along with how he is as a father and his ability to guide others through hardships and challenges—he’s the best friend and teammate anyone could wish for.”
