Scheana Shay Caught Up in Katie Ginella and Gretchen Rossi’s RHOC Turmoil
Scheana Shay has become embroiled in the ongoing drama of The Real Housewives of Orange County, involving Katie Ginella and Gretchen Rossi, according to Us Weekly.
On Thursday, September 4, Katie joined Teddi Mellencamp on her podcast “Two Ts in a Pod.” During the episode, they explored accusations Katie, 40, made to journalist KiKi Monique about a rumor concerning Gretchen, 46.
Teddi, 44, mentioned she heard that Gretchen and Scheana, 40, are “very tight,” suggesting that Scheana was the source behind the rumor that KiKi reported.
“I have that from multiple people too,” Katie confirmed to Teddi. “There are multiple sources who could have told KiKi,” Teddi added.
After the episode aired, KiKi took to social media, calling the claims nonsense.
“John Cougar Mellencamp’s daughter is spreading lies about me and Scheana Shay on her podcast,” KiKi remarked. “This is the weirdest f***ing sentence I’ve ever written in my life.”
KiKi elaborated to Us, saying, “I have my theories on why Teddi shared this completely false rumor, but unlike Teddi, I don’t just say anything for attention and clicks.”
She continued, “I hate that Scheana was pulled into this circus when she didn’t deserve it.”
On Friday, September 5, Scheana responded on her podcast, “Scheananigans with Scheana Shay.”
She labeled the accusation that she informed KiKi as a “lie.”
“Why would I do that?” Scheana questioned, contemplating potential legal action regarding the claims.
Previously reported by Us, KiKi became part of a dramatic storyline in season 19 of RHOC, involving a rumor about Gretchen needing hospitalization after the infamous Naked Wasted Party at Tamra Judge’s home in 2013.
KiKi alleges that Katie informed her during a lunch in 2024 that Gretchen claimed she had been hospitalized.
KiKi later relayed Katie’s comments about the rumor to another reporter during an off-the-record conversation, which, according to KiKi, led to Tamra, 58, being clued in on Katie’s purported claims.
In response, Katie denied sharing the rumor with KiKi but acknowledged their lunch together, while Gretchen refuted ever telling Katie she was hospitalized.
When asked why she believed Katie was denying having shared the rumor, KiKi stated, “[Katie] thought I could be collateral damage because who would believe me, especially with the label of ‘blogger’… which is deemed negative in this Bravo landscape.”
The journalist and content creator expressed, “For someone like me, who has built her career and reputation from the ground up—especially as a plus-size black woman in L.A.—to have that disregarded so swiftly is incredibly painful. I’m not sure why she decided to throw me under the bus, other than she doesn’t view me as valuable.”
A source familiar with the situation informed Us, “There’s a part of this story concerning KiKi that hasn’t been revealed yet.”
