Scheana Shay Suggests She Witnessed Marciano Depart for Alleged Encounter with Jessi
Following Marciano Brunette‘s allegations of an affair with Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Ngatikaura — which she has denied — Scheana Shay is now chiming in to share her perspective on the matter.
“I don’t have any NDA signed, so I can say whatever I want. However, out of respect for the viewers left on that cliffhanger from season 2 of Mormon Wives, I want to hold back a bit because I know quite a lot,” Scheana, 40, teased during the episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast on Friday, May 23, available here.
Scheana alleged that Marciano, 31, shared details about his purported affair with Jessi with her and Demi Engemann.
“After that night at TomTom, the three of us had a FaceTime call. While I didn’t witness [Marciano and Jessi] making out, they were undeniably very flirty and all over each other,” Scheana claimed. “I was literally next to him and thought, ‘Wow, I don’t hug him like that.’”
According to Scheana, that group outing prompted her sister to question the dynamics between Jessi, 32, and Marciano. She noted, “My sister asked, ‘What’s happening between Marciano and Jessi?’ stating, ‘His hand was on her thigh the entire show.’”
Scheana recounted that things became even more puzzling when they went to Jessi’s hotel room that night. After speaking with Jessi’s husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, they prepared to leave at 3 a.m., only to discover Marciano was missing.
“I assumed he had already exchanged numbers with her, but then he appeared in the elevator. Brock joked, ‘Oh, you think they just hooked up?’ I was like, ‘No! What are you saying? We just FaceTimed with Jordan. Absolutely not,’” she remembered. “Maybe they were simply wrapping up a conversation they didn’t want to have in front of us.”
Scheana pointed out that Jessi has openly stated she “is not in an open marriage” and “not a swinger” after previously discussing such experiences in another relationship. However, during the car ride home, it seemed Marciano was texting Jessi.
“Once we got back, he said, ‘I think I’m going to head back.’ I was like, ‘Excuse me? No, you are not.’ Brock was furious, saying, ‘That is someone else’s wife,’” she continued. “Marciano countered, ‘For all I know, she’s a swinger. They’re open.’ I told him, ‘Before you leave, message her and ask, ‘Is Jordan okay with this?’”
In front of Scheana, Marciano texted Jessi, to which she claimed, “[Jessi] replied something like, ‘Oh yeah, definitely. Haha.’ It felt very affirmative, a proper yes. He showed me the reply and announced, ‘I’m heading out.’”
Scheana alleged that Marciano returned four hours later. As Vanderpump Rules fans might remember, she confirmed she has most friends’ locations saved on her phone and noticed that both Marciano and Jessi were located at her hotel room.
“Marciano hinted that he and Jessi had a rendezvous the previous night,” Scheana stated, before emphasizing that Jessi denied any wrongdoing. “I told her, ‘I can see both you and Marciano were at the same place.’ She insisted, ‘No. He was with another girl and didn’t want to return to your house that late. He asked if he could crash in my hotel room and just slept on the couch.’”
A production insider informed Us Weekly that the drama “will all be captured on camera.”
Scheana’s recounting follows Marciano’s assertion in season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives that he had an affair with Jessi. In an interview with Bustle on Thursday, May 22, Jessi subtly addressed the unfolding drama.
“That was indeed a tough watch. We are still filming, so you will see how this story develops,” she remarked. “Viewers can expect me to be quite vulnerable and to reveal more about my real life and marriage.”
Jessi expressed hope that by being honest about her situation in the upcoming season, it might “assist many women” facing similar challenges, adding, “Due to the show, I can’t divulge much right now. But relationships can be incredibly complicated, and people do falter.”
After witnessing Marciano’s interactions with Layla Taylor, Jessi clarified that there was more to the narrative.
“I’ll point out that it’s not as he portrayed it. What he said wasn’t accurate. I wish I could speak freely now,” she remarked, agreeing with the interviewer that Marciano’s claims were difficult to validate. “Honestly, yes, he’s a piece of s***.”
