Scott Porter from Ginny and Georgia Believes Paul Deserves an Apology in Season 4

Scott Porter’s character on Ginny & Georgia faced significant backlash over a controversial incident with Georgia — but is it time for Paul to say he’s sorry in season 4?

Porter shared his thoughts on Paul’s trajectory following a tense confrontation in season 3, which escalated to him hitting the wall behind his wife’s head, triggering her PTSD from past trauma.

“During the kitchen confrontation, there’s definitely a moment where he feels apology,” Porter, 45, told Us Weekly at the Motion Picture & Television Fund NextGen Annual Summer Party on Sunday, June 22. “You can see instant regret on Paul’s face, but I think he’s so emotionally wounded that he struggles to find the words.”

Porter reminisced about Paul and Georgia’s (Brianne Howey) final scene, stating, “She offers an apology in his office, and he almost resists accepting it because he’s not yet ready to apologize himself. Paul is a deeply reflective character, which has been evident throughout the series.”

Ginny & Georgia has already secured a season 4 renewal, perfectly timed for the unfolding pregnancy twist — alongside the paternity drama. The acclaimed Netflix series, which debuted in 2021, narrates the story of a young single mother named Georgia (Brianne Howey), who relocates her family to Wellsbury, Massachusetts, after escaping […]

As we anticipate season 4, Porter envisions Paul taking steps toward reconciliation.

“If the chance arises at some point in season 4, he would definitely apologize,” he noted. “However, I believe he’s actually owed a more significant apology from Georgia. Just being honest.”

Paul and Georgia’s relationship began on shaky ground, marked by her arrest for murder. Season 3, which premiered earlier this month, revealed Paul’s growing distance from Georgia as he began to doubt how much she was withholding from him. In a desperate bid to regain his affection, Georgia misled him about being pregnant, a lie that ignited their explosive argument.

Although Paul and Georgia have chosen to separate, their situation is further complicated by her realization that she is pregnant, with either his child or that of her love interest Joe’s (Raymond Ablack).

“Remember, our show thrives on high drama. We seldom opt for an easy resolution,” Porter teased. “If you’re hoping for this chaos to persist, the idea that it might be Paul’s baby is certainly riveting.”

He added: “The narrative clearly indicates that there’s depth in the connection between Joe and Georgia. If we aspire for a complete [and] satisfactory conclusion — which might be elusive on our show — Joe should indeed be the one to step up as the dad.”

Porter suggests that just because Paul and Georgia are at odds currently doesn’t mean healing isn’t possible in the future.

“With our show, you can never say never. Many relationships have experienced ups and downs and found their way back. Whether it’s a fractured family bond or a strained partnership, our series demonstrates that reconciliation is always possible,” he hinted. “However, it’s going to take some time to get there. This season has represented a turning point for many characters, and post-reckoning, a period of introspection is essential.”

Porter is eager to see how Paul’s narrative unfolds moving forward.

“Paul has some significant soul-searching to do. I believe we’ll also see Georgia contemplating her own path — her circumstances are evolving quickly,” he expressed. “If they ultimately find their way back to one another, it could make for a very intriguing storyline. But whether that’s in the cards? I haven’t a clue.”
