Seeking Sister Wife Season 6: Garrick Reveals Unbelievable Sperm Theory

Seeking Sister Wife’s Garrick Merrifield offers his distinct viewpoint on women with multiple partners and the influence sperm has on them in the upcoming season of the TLC series.

In an exclusive sneak peek from Us Weekly for the season 6 premiere, airing Monday, September 22, Garrick and his wife Dannielle Merrifield discuss their journey of courting their new partner, Lorrana, who they describe as having a complex romantic history.

“Things really matured [and] started going in a good direction,” Garrick shares on camera about Lorrana getting to know him and Dannielle. “We sort of hashed out a lot of deep, heartfelt, serious questions, especially because I was aware of her past and how some men had treated her poorly.”

Garrick asserts that certain studies have indicated, “After women typically have around five sexual partners, they struggle to bond anymore.”

He elaborates, “Once a woman has had about five different partners, the likelihood of her forming a deep bond or having a lasting relationship diminishes significantly. It’s a numerical drop.”

Dannielle then interjects, claiming, “It’s the sperm,” which Garrick agrees is indeed a factor.

“The sperm being inside of her alters, yeah, the person,” he insists.

While Garrick and Dannielle didn’t delve further into their sperm assertion, they expressed excitement about including Lorrana in their plural family.

The Merrifields reveal in the clip that after five months of conversations with Lorrana from Brazil, they met her in Jamaica for about a week. At the conclusion of the trip, Garrick baptized Lorrana “for the remission of her sins” and proposed.

“After spending five days together, I thought, ‘You know, I feel really good about her. God wants me to ask her to be my wife,’” Garrick recalls while sitting beside Dannielle on the confessional couch.

He adds, “That’s when I asked her, and she said yes. I’m very grateful for that.”

Viewers will witness Garrick and Dannielle’s experience with Lorrana, along with four other families seeking a sister wife, when the TLC series resumes later this month.

The Merrifields had previously attempted to add a sister wife to their family but faced two unsuccessful experiences. In the season 6 trailer released last month, Dannielle admitted to her mixed feelings about her husband connecting so well with Lorrana.

Sister Wives debuted in 2010, and after over a decade of ups and downs, fans remain captivated by Kody Brown and his plural family — even though he is now married to just one woman. Initially, the TLC series showcased Kody with his three wives, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown, […]

“I’m thrilled for them. It just makes me feel less connected to Garrick. I can’t explain why,” Dannielle shared in the video, wiping away tears.

However, Dannielle won’t be alone in her struggle to accept a new family member this season as another Seeking Sister Wife family faces similar challenges.

Returning family members Nick Davis, April Davis, and Jenny Davis must navigate girlfriend Teresa’s desire to become an official wife this season, with Nick playfully noting in the trailer, “Polygamy is certainly not for the faint of heart.”

Fans will also meet three new families, including Reise Williamson and Billie Jean Williamson, who hope to add a wife while parenting their twins.

Matt Johnson and Anjelica Johnson are also at a crossroads regarding whether their sister wife, Shanay, who has been with them for three years, should officially marry Matt.

Newcomers Yessel Peralta and Dani Peralta are also not aligned on their plural marriage ambitions.

Dani revealed in the trailer that she doesn’t “want another woman to have a child” with her husband, while Yessel insists he’s ready to pursue the lifestyle.

Season 6 of Seeking Sister Wife premieres on TLC Monday, September 22, at 9 p.m. ET.
