Selena Gomez Tries Out Faux Bangs but Fears She Might ‘Regret It’
Selena Gomez isn’t quite ready to experiment with bangs.
On Monday, June 23, the 32-year-old Gomez shared a playful post on Instagram, joking about the idea of cutting a fringe while donning clip-in strands. She styled her brunette hair in choppy waves, featuring faux bangs that brushed slightly past her eyes. Complementing her hair, the singer opted for a fun glam look with coral lips, rosy cheeks, and graphic eye makeup, highlighted with brown shadow blended into the crease and paired with a nude shade. She finalized her appearance with mascara and feathered brows, all while wrapped in a white bathrobe.
“I would, but I’d regret it, then get it redone so I simply won’t #bangs,” Gomez posted as her caption.
Her celebrity peers agreed that while she could definitely rock a fringe, it’s a significant commitment. “That’s so real,” remarked model Connar Franklin Carpenter, while another friend, Theresa Mingus, commented, “So fire [but] such a mood.”
Through the years, Gomez has tried various hairstyles. During her time filming Wizards of Waverley Place from 2007 to 2012, she wore long brunette hair that flowed to her waist, before opting for a shorter style just past her shoulders in the show’s final season.
In 2013, she introduced caramel brown highlights along with long extensions. By 2015, she bid farewell to her highlights and dyed her hair almost black. The next year, she embraced a balayage and a wispy fringe.
In 2017, Gomez transformed into an ashy blonde with a brunette root smudge, before returning to her signature coffee brown in 2019.
She experimented with highlights again at the end of 2023, sporting curtain bangs and chest-length hair. By mid-2024, Gomez trimmed her hair and treated it to a fresh glaze. Later that year, she cut her hair to shoulder length before opting for an even shorter chic bob in 2025.
