Selena Gomez Unveils a Bob with Bangs and Playfully Mocks Her ‘Willy Wonka’ Vibe

Selena Gomez is always eager for a hair makeover.

On Sunday, October 13, Gomez, 33, showcased a fresh hairstyle on Instagram and even joked about her look. In the photo, she introduced blunt bangs, cut just above her eyebrows and styled sleek over her forehead. The remainder of her glossy brown hair was parted down the middle and fashioned into a bouncy bob that fell just above her jawline.

“I wonder if Willy Wonka is hiring,” she humorously captioned the post, teasing her hairstyle, which she felt bore a resemblance to Johnny Depp’s hair in the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The actress paired her new hairstyle with a full makeup look featuring winged eyeliner, defined eyebrows, lengthy lashes, and coral pink lips. She rounded off her makeup with rosy cheeks and a hint of pink eyeshadow applied to her inner eyes. She completed her outfit with a white T-shirt featuring a scoop neckline.

In a wedding glam masterclass, Selena Gomez showcased an Old Hollywood-inspired bob. For her wedding to Benny Blanco on Saturday, September 27, she collaborated with Joico hair artist Renato Campora, who crafted her chic bob. “In preparing Selena Gomez’s hair for a celebration of joy, unity, and love, every detail had to be perfect,” Campora stated.

Prior to her wedding with Benny Blanco, which took place on September 27, Gomez had trimmed her hair just past her shoulders. Styled by Renato Campora, her hair was side-parted and worn down.

Campora shared details with Harper’s Bazaar, describing how he meticulously prepared her hair for the event. He began by double-cleansing her strands using the Joico Defy Damage Protective Shampoo, followed by a half-hour treatment with the Joico Defy Damage KBOND20 Power Masque. “This powerful combination resets the hair by removing buildup and thoroughly cleansing it,” he explained.

Before styling, Campora applied Joico JoiWhip Design Foam to her hair. He blow-dried her hair with a large round brush and pinned it up to cool, achieving a bouncy blowout.

“I created a deep side part and used this technique throughout to establish a voluminous and polished base,” Campora mentioned. “Once cooled, the hair appeared noticeably shiny, bouncy, and full of life.”

To enhance her Old Hollywood vibe, he used a curling iron to create soft waves, paying special attention to face-framing sections to accentuate her features.

To ensure her hairstyle remained intact throughout the night, Campora finished with a spray of Joico hairspray.

“The final result was a flawless, timeless, and healthy-looking Hollywood Glamour Marcel Wave Bob, perfect for a day celebrating love, beauty, and perfection,” Campora expressed with enthusiasm.
