Sharna Burgess Claps Back at Troll Who Claims Her Son ‘Looks Like a Girl’
Sharna Burgess is not pleased with anyone making comments about her child’s appearance.
On Tuesday, September 2, Burgess, 40, responded to a troll via Instagram after the individual suggested that her and fiancé Brian Austin Green’s son Zane, 3, “looks like a girl.”
“Damn, now even this boy looks like a girl; why do all his boys look like girls?” the commenter noted, referring to Green’s three children with his ex-wife, Megan Fox — Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 9. (He also has son Kassius, 23, with ex Vanessa Marcil.)
Burgess swiftly addressed the troll, commenting, “Take your [sic] account off private so I can comment on how you look too 👀.”
The former DWTS pro has consistently defended her child and stepchildren, using her Instagram Stories in 2023 to critique those questioning Zane’s top-knot hairstyle.
“I had someone comment on the fact that his hair tie this morning is pink,” she stated. “I don’t understand this whole ‘pink is for girls’ notion, and using a pink hair tie [doesn’t] mean anything. I don’t comprehend why ‘long hair is feminine or for girls.’ Have you seen Jason Momoa? I should post on my Instagram about all the men that most women, and probably most men, find attractive with long hair.”
Burgess also emphasized that the covers of “f—ing romance novels” often feature leading men with long, flowing hair. “It’s just crazy to me that when it comes to kids, it’s like we’re imposing some agenda on them,” she added. “It’s so f—ing dumb!”
She concluded by expressing her annoyance with “ignorant, narrow-minded” individuals and “their foolish comments.”

Green and Fox fully support their children’s self-expression and have been candid about their desire for their kids to embrace their gender identities, including the freedom to wear long hair and traditionally marketed girls’ clothing.
“He had stopped wearing dresses for a while,” Fox, 39, who also shares a 5-month-old daughter, Saga, with ex Machine Gun Kelly, noted about her eldest son Noah during a 2019 episode of The Talk. “He just wore one two days ago to school. I asked him how it went and he said, ‘Well, all the boys laughed when I came in, but I don’t care. I love dresses too much.’”
The actress added, “I send him to a really liberal, hippie school, but even there, here in California, he still encounters boys saying, ‘Boys don’t wear dresses,’ or, ‘Boys don’t wear pink.’ We’re navigating that right now. I’m trying to instill confidence in him regardless of what others say.”
Noah and siblings were there to cheer Zane on his first day of preschool, with Burgess sharing a video of the group supporting their little brother.
“Are we going to school?” Zane asked one of his half-siblings, who responded, “Yeah, are you excited?”
Zane smiled while holding up a sign for his first day of school.
“Zane, turn it around,” the sibling prompted. “Look, Zaney’s! It says Zaney’s first day of school!”
Burgess then asked her son, “Are you a big boy?” before sharing a clip of herself in tears after drop-off.
“I am utterly unwell… when did I blink?” the dancer shared in the caption of the video on Tuesday. “The end… I SOBBED in the car afterward. I also cried last night and this morning. I made him a video that I saved on a hard drive, telling him how proud I am and sharing stories about this part of his life and what he is like. I’ve been doing this since his 1st birthday for milestone moments, wanting to document these experiences. It’s incredible how big he is, and just two days ago he was talking about remembering being in my belly, which we’ve discussed. He mentioned there was water in there, he liked it, and he could hear music and me. He also shared that he used to be a woman and had a cat named Carol 👀. It’s fascinating watching him grow into this life and body but still recall details from another time. I know one day he will forget these things, so I strive to document them all for him.”
She concluded her post, “My big boy is still little… but today when he woke up, he felt a little bigger, a little more grown, and a little less like my baby. I am not well. Yet, I couldn’t be prouder ✨💕. His siblings hyped him up this morning, as you can hear, and we all went to support his first morning drop-off. My blended tribe is my everything. We are so lucky ♥️.”
