Sofia Franklyn Appears to Exclude Alex Cooper from Her Debut Memoir Cover

It appears that Sofia Franklyn is reigniting the drama surrounding the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with the announcement of her debut memoir.

On Wednesday, February 25, Franklin, 32, revealed that she is preparing for the release of her Daddy Issues book later this year. Along with the announcement, she unveiled the book’s cover, featuring a photo of her alongside a blonde woman, whose face has been omitted from the image. Fans quickly began to speculate that Franklyn’s former “Call Her Daddy” co-host, Alex Cooper, was the individual edited out.

“My story has only been told for me. If you had asked me to write this book five years ago, you would have received a different narrative — one filled with fear, vengeance, insecurity, and a wounded sense of needing to prove myself,” Franklyn stated on Wednesday. “I could not live authentically until I conveyed my truth in my own words, on my own terms, and in the most radically honest manner I could.”

The book, published by Simon & Schuster, is set to explore Franklyn’s journey through “girlhood, friendship, sexuality, agency, and healing,” according to the book’s description.

“Long before the world was watching, Sofia Franklyn mastered the art of disappearing. Dysfunction was the norm and escape became second nature,” the book summary states. “New York City provided a chance for reinvention, where she encountered Alex Cooper. Their relationship progressed rapidly: from roommates to best friends to business partners.”

Since its launch in 2018, “Call Her Daddy” skyrocketed to success, but as the episodes consistently topped podcast charts, the close friendship between Cooper and Franklyn fell apart.

“In retrospect, the signs were evident. Secrets, things left unsaid, and omissions,” the book summary continues. “Millions witnessed as Sofia transitioned from one half of a beloved duo to the antagonist in the internet’s most notorious breakup. She found herself at rock bottom again, not due to the familiar hands of men, but because of the unexpected betrayal from another woman. What ensued was a private collapse, leading her to question her ambition and the price of being seen as a headline.”

It wasn’t just podcast listeners who were tuned into the Franklyn and Cooper saga — it captivated the entire internet.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy contacted Franklyn and Cooper with a three-year contract offer in 2018 after “Call Her Daddy” began to gain traction. Two years into their agreement, Portnoy heard whispers that the show was being pitched elsewhere.

Cooper claimed that Portnoy offered the pair a $500,000 deal that included ownership of the show. In the Call Her Alex docuseries, released in June 2025, Cooper further asserted that Franklyn was unwilling to accept the offer. Cooper opted for it, becoming the “single father” of “Call Her Daddy” and transforming the podcast into a global phenomenon.

Cooper later signed an exclusive deal with Spotify after her Barstool departure, and she has secured a $125 million deal with SiriusXM.

In contrast, Franklyn launched her “Sofia With an F” podcast in October 2020. While she has touched upon her career on her podcast and social media, her forthcoming book promises a more profound exploration of her journey.

“I believe the internet perceives me in one way, which I appreciate and is a part of who I am,” Franklyn shared during a June 2025 episode of the “Sofia With an F” podcast. “There will always be the ‘Call Her Daddy,’ Barstool association. While I can be sexual, ditzy, and smart simultaneously, I realize that after the controversy, I built a hard exterior out of fear.”

She added, “I’m still working to break free from that, and I think being open about it is essential.”

Daddy Issues is scheduled for release on November 10.
