Sophie Turner Applauds Joe Jonas’ Album Amid Divorce Tensions

Joe Jonas‘s solo album post-divorce, Music for People Who Believe in Love, seems to have the backing of his ex-wife, Sophie Turner.

“Go go @joejonas,” Turner, 29, posted on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, May 24, along with a Spotify link to the album.

Jonas, 35, launched his second solo LP on Friday, May 23, filled with songs reflecting on his life since his split from Turner in 2023.

“It was scary at times, and also liberating,” Jonas shared with Billboard in August 2024 regarding his choice to explore his personal life through music. “I’m not trying to target anyone on this album. I’m not aiming to expose anything. … I’m a content person, and the music needed to mirror that — along with the journey that brought me here.”

He added, “I faced numerous life changes, discovering who I was as an individual, father, and friend, all while navigating the scrutiny of the music industry. During this chaotic period in my life, I turned to music as a form of expression.”

Us Weekly confirmed in September 2023 that the Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce from Turner after four years of marriage. They later engaged in discussions over custody arrangements for their daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, who hold dual citizenship in the United States and England, Turner’s home country.

Jonas and the Game of Thrones star ultimately reached a custody agreement in September 2024.

“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the U.K.,” the former couple stated in a joint message to Us. “We look forward to being outstanding coparents.”

While Jonas has remained fairly private about the separation and custody matters, Turner referred to the experience as “incredibly sad” in a profile with Harper’s Bazaar.

“We had a wonderful relationship, and it was tough,” she recalled last year. “I’m thrilled to be back. It felt like my life was on hold until I returned to England. I just never truly feel like myself when I’m not in London with my friends and family. I was away for so long — six years — during pivotal moments like engagements in my friend circle and my pregnancy. I recently dined with someone who mentioned, ‘I never got to touch your belly.’ We missed those significant experiences together.”

For much of their marriage, Turner resided with Jonas in both Los Angeles and Miami.
