Who is performing at the Super Bowl 2025 halftime show?
In September, the NFL revealed that Kendrick Lamar will take center stage for the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show. Lamar shared this exciting news by simply tweeting “Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans” on September 8, along with a link to a YouTube video.
In the video, the acclaimed rapper, who recently won five Grammys for his poignant diss track, is seen against a massive American flag on a football field as he loads footballs into a launching machine.
“What’s up, everybody? I’m Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be there?” he queries. “I hope so. You know there’s only one shot at a championship, no second chances.”
He adds, “I don’t want you to miss out. Join me in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. Dress to impress, even if you’re viewing from home.”
On January 23, Apple Music announced on X a special guest who will be joining Lamar on stage. In a separate video, Lamar can be seen strolling on the football field while chatting on the phone. “I’ve been thinking about a special guest performer…” he muses before SZA surprises him by pouring a bucket of Gatorade over his head.
SZA and Lamar have collaborated before, notably on the track “All The Stars,” featured in the “Black Panther” soundtrack, which garnered nominations at both the 2019 Grammys and Academy Awards.
