Tammy and Amy Slaton’s Feud Steals the Spotlight in ‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ Trailer
Tammy and Amy Slaton’s sibling relationship seems to have weakened significantly.
On Tuesday, December 2, TLC unveiled the official season 8 trailer for 1000-Lb. Sisters. The shocking preview indicates that the show’s main stars appear to harbor some resentment toward each other as they share their unpredictable journeys on camera.
“It feels like we’re drifting apart,” Tammy expresses in a confessional regarding her sister Amy. “She used to be my best friend.”
While there seem to be numerous factors contributing to their discord, it certainly didn’t help when Tammy allegedly labeled her sister a deadbeat mom.
“I can’t handle her toxic ass no more,” Amy confesses, struggling to hold back tears. “I’m done.”
When their brother, Chris Combs, attempts to mediate and reunite the sisters, he quickly realizes it’s more challenging than he anticipated.
“Every other word is an F-bomb,” he remarks about the family group chat. “Beep, beep, beep, you beep, beep, beep ass.”
In another scene, Tammy remarks to her brother, “If Amy keeps her mouth shut, so would I.”
Despite ongoing family friction, season 8 of 1000-Lb. Sisters is set to be filled with affection.
As Tammy embraces her life post-500-lb. weight loss and skin removal surgery, she explores a new relationship with Andrea Dalton and goes on a job interview in search of a new passion.
“I kinda wonder if she’s gonna ask me to marry her,” she shares in the sneak peek after spending time with Andrea.
Simultaneously, Amy is organizing her dream wedding to boyfriend Brian Lovvorn, which has a surprise twist.
“The wedding is in like six months. It’s crucial for the venue to be haunted, as that symbolizes our love,” she explains. “My family wants nothing to do with it, and neither does Queen Tammy.”
Back in May, viewers witnessed Brian propose on 1000-Lb. Sisters inside a haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky. TLC disclosed that the proposal occurred during the winter season of 2024, five months after their relationship began.
“Initially, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop onto my finger while I was asleep, about two weeks into our relationship,” Amy revealed to People. “I was taken aback at first; I said yes, but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.”
Amy also mentioned in her interview that Tammy “really felt like we were rushing it.” (The couple finally got married on Halloween night at Talbott Tavern in Bardstown, Kentucky.)
Regardless of the reasons for Tammy and Amy’s conflict, Chris remains optimistic that his siblings can reconcile. However, Amy may not share the same sentiment.
“I’m not going to let you feed me this bologna when I don’t like bologna,” she tells her brother after his attempts to bring the sisters back together.
1000-Lb. Sisters premieres on TLC on Tuesday, January 6, at 9 p.m. ET.
