Tamra Judge Labels Jill Zarin as ‘Tone Deaf’ Following RHONY Spinoff Dismissal
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge shared her perspective on the recent dismissal of fellow Bravo star Jill Zarin from the upcoming Real Housewives of New York City spinoff.
“Bye bye Jill,” said Tamra, 58, during the Thursday, February 12, episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “Why do you need to go to the press? You have no issues recording yourself and criticizing Bad Bunny. … Why not just pick up your phone and say, ‘I’m truly sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking?’”
Jill, 62, stirred up controversy by criticizing Bad Bunny’s performance at the Super Bowl on February 8, labeling it as inappropriate. Although she quickly deleted her social media video, she was ultimately removed from E!’s upcoming series featuring the original RHONY cast. The new show, tentatively titled The Golden Life, is set to follow the original Housewives as they relocate from New York City to Florida.
“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to proceed with her participation in The Golden Life,” a statement to Us Weekly declared. “We remain committed to delivering the series consistent with our company’s standards and values.”
Jill later commented on her firing.
“They didn’t even give me a chance,” she told In Touch on Tuesday, February 10. “I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.”
Regarding Tamra, she questioned whether Jill’s statement was an attempt to reclaim her spot on TV.
“I think she’s probably fighting for her job and hinting, ‘You’re not done with me, I’ll return,’” Tamra remarked. “I get the impression she’s quite tone-deaf.”
Tamra’s podcast co-host, Dolores Catania, also shared her thoughts on Jill’s firing.
“I think she must feel like she wants to pull her hair out because that was such a foolish thing to do. I really can’t grasp why she believed it was necessary,” Dolores, 55, speculated on Tuesday’s episode. “But you know what? You can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.”
In the aftermath of the incident, Jill’s former company publicly distanced itself from her.
“Zarin Fabrics stands firmly against racism, discrimination, and rhetoric that aims to exclude or belittle individuals based on their identity, culture, or background,” the company stated on Monday, February 9. “We want to clarify that Jill Zarin has not been an owner or associated with Zarin Fabrics for several years. Our company operates independently, and any public statements attributed to her reflect her personal views and do not align with our values, beliefs, or operations.”
Tamra also pointed out on Thursday that Jill likely hasn’t held a stake in Zarin Fabrics since her husband Bobby Zarin passed away in 2018.
“The family still owns it, but Jill hasn’t been involved. In fact, they prefer to keep their distance from her. They don’t want her around,” Tamra asserted.
