Taylor Swift Dons Elizabeth Taylor-Inspired Jewelry in Baby Spice Photo
Taylor Swift made a chic appearance at former Spice Girl Emma Bunton’s Heart Radio show, kicking off her U.K. promotional tour for her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The pop sensation, 35, looked impeccably stylish in a fashion-forward ensemble that combined subtle glamour with lyrical hints for her sharp-eyed fans in a photo captured during her visit on Friday, October 3.
Swift was dressed in a designer outfit adorned with jewelry that hinted at one of her latest tracks, donning a fall-ready Cashmere V Neck Sweater ($1300) from YSL, paired with the Conan Check miniskirt from A.L.C., which retails for around $395.00.
For accessories, she chose a Chanel Pendant Necklace ($1,398) alongside two Cartier pieces — the Love Bracelet ($6,630) and Santos Demoiselle Watch ($18,330).
Swift’s Cartier jewelry comes on the heels of her song “Elizabeth Taylor,” which references the renowned jeweler and watchmaker.
“Hey-ey, what could you possibly get for the girl who has everything and nothing all at once? / Babe, I would trade the Cartier for someone to trust (Just kidding),” she sings about seeking a “forever” type of love, a verse also thought to be an ode to her relationship with NFL star fiancé Travis Kelce.
“We hit the best booth at Musso and Frank’s / They say I’m bad news, I just say, ‘Thanks’ / And you look at me like you’re hypnotized / And I think you know why,” Swift continues.
The song represents the second track on her 12th studio album, paying tribute to the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor, known for her much-publicized love life during her peak fame.
Swift confirmed that “Elizabeth Taylor” was the first Showgirl track she penned during an Apple Music behind-the-scenes feature released on Friday.
Her devoted fans quickly highlighted the parallels between Swift and the cinematic icon on social media.
“Elizabeth Taylor: a famous child star in the 1940s and an even bigger superstar in the 1950s,” one user observed. “Tay rose to fame at 16 and only got more popular a decade and two decades later. [Elizabeth] was married seven times. Tay could illuminate this dynamic with the media’s portrayal of her and her partners throughout her career.” (Taylor was married eight times to seven men.)
During her time at Bunton’s Heart Radio show, the singer adorably expressed her excitement over meeting her fellow pop star.
“It’s so surreal to share the same space as you because I mentioned to you I had your doll,” Swift recalled, referencing her ‘90s Spice Girls Barbie. “The Baby Spice doll was my absolute favorite. We all used to fight over who got to be you among the blonde girls.”
Bunton, in turn, reciprocated the admiration, sharing that she attended Swift’s Eras Tour not just once, but twice.
“I was seated next to your mom and dad, and it was such a wonderful experience,” Bunton, 49, mentioned about her London concert. “We had a delightful evening and chatted.”
